Mexican Soccer Is Back On Telemundo As “Fútbol Estelar” Presents A Matchup Between Leon And Atlante This Saturday At 9pm/8c

July 19, 2013 By admin

telemundo-nbcLeon starts anew in front of its home crowd as it faces off against Atlante, and Telemundo will be broadcasting live from Nou Camp Stadium. The match will also be streamed live on deportestelemundo.com

MIAMI –JULY 17, 2013-  Mexican soccer is back on Telemundo this Saturday, July 20, as León and Atlante kick off their respective seasons on “Fútbol Estelar” at 9PM/8CT/5PT. This will be a showdown of contrasts between two squads with different objectives but similar necessities, since Leon believes it has what it takes to win its sixth title but also needs to earn enough points to ensure its stay in the First Division. Meanwhile, Atlante needs to earn as many points as possible to fend off the threat of relegation as well. Andrés Cantor will be narrating all the action live from Nou Camp as Telemundo showcases new technology that enhances the viewing experience and puts the spotlight on the most controversial plays of a match that can also be enjoyed on computers and mobile devices by visiting deportestelemundo.com.

Leon starts the 2013 Apertura looking for redemption after a first semester of 2013 that left them with their pride wounded. Gustavo Matosas’ team finished the 2013 Clausura  as one of the bottom-feeders in 15th  place with 16 points after having surprised everyone in 2012 with 33 points, a third place finish in the regular season and a spot in the semifinals of the playoffs.

Leon took on the challenge to get back in contention by opening its wallet and bolstering its offense with players such as Mauro Boselli, the striker who is considered the league’s most high-profile arrival after spending the past season in Italy. Boselli is a prominent forward who arrives in Mexico having scored 60 goals in 190 career matches, one of them against FC Barcelona in the 2009 Club World Cup Final.

Atlante, on the other hand, starts out in a compromising position near the bottom of the dreaded relegation table after coming in last place in the last tournament. Their biggest addition was Alejandro Vela, a former Cruz Azul midfielder who is also Carlos Vela’s older brother.

All the thrills of a new season are only on Telemundo, home of the best Mexican soccer.

La Apasionante Pelea Por Alcanzar La Liguilla De La Liga Mx Se Vive Por Telemundo: Guadalajara Se Juega Su Última Carta Este Domingo Frente Al Querétaro A Las 5:55pm ET

April 23, 2013 By admin

telemundo-nbcADEMÁS, EL LEÓN ESPERA PODER DESPEDIRSE DE SU AFICIÓN A LO GRANDE ESTE SÁBADO A LAS 9PM ET (For English, please scroll down)

THE THRILLING MEXICAN LEAGUE PLAYOFF CHASE IS ON TELEMUNDO THIS SUNDAY NIGHT: GUADALAJARA PUTS EVERYTHING ON THE LINE AS IT FACES OFF AGAINST QUERETARO AT 5:55PM ET

SATURDAY NIGHT WILL ALSO BE FULL OF ACTION AS LEON ASPIRES TO END ITS SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE IN FRONT OF ITS FANS AGAINST ATLANTE AT 9PM ET

MIAMI – APRIL 23, 2013- In an emotional match of the highest stakes, Guadalajara and Queretaro face off in Sunday’s playoff defining key matchup, which can be seen on Telemundo’s “Fútbol Estelar” at 5:55 PM ET/4:55PM CT/2:55PM PT. Chivas has its sights set on a win to keep its postseason hopes alive, while Queretaro will attempt to avoid the dreaded relegation while keeping its own playoff chances intact. Andrés Cantor will be narrating the play-by-play action as Sammy Sadovnik also provides his analysis and commentary.

The current situation is extreme for both teams, but for different reasons. Chivas must win and await other results to find out whether it is still alive in the playoff chase. On the other hand, Queretaro currently holds the last of the eight postseason spots. However, they would be forced to miss out on the playoffs and face relegation if they don’t win their remaining two matches and/or Puebla draws or wins against Atlas this weekend.

The key players for each squad will be up front. Miguel Sabah’s goal-scoring prowess will be one of the keys for Chivas, while the duo of forwards composed by Wilberto Cosme and Amaury Escoto will attempt to lead the way for Queretaro just like they did with a goal apiece in their dramatic 2-1 last-minute win over San Luis last week.

Saturday night will also provide a special occasion for Mexican soccer fans as Leon looks to give its fans one last home win at 9PM ET/8PM CT/6PM PT. The opponent they will be facing is Atlante, a squad that last visited Leon’s Nou Camp 10 years ago. Atlante is currently enjoying a two match winning streak, but Leon is also on an unbeaten run of five matches and wants to finish off on a high note with a victory at home.

Leon will rely on the skill of Carlos “Gullit” Peña, a vital part of last weekend’s last-minute draw at Chiapas, and awaits an Atlante side that had an inspired Esteban Paredes against Puebla. Paredes scored twice in his team’s 2-0 win.

All the thrills and intrigue of the chase for the playoffs in the Liga MX can be seen on Telemundo, home of the best Mexican soccer.

Choque Entre Dos Grandes Del Balompié Mexicano En “Fútbol Estelar”. Chivas Y Pachuca Miden Fuerzas Este Domingo A Las 7pm ET Por Telemundo

March 8, 2013 By admin

telemundo-nbcGUADALAJARA SUEÑA CON LA LIGUILLA Y AFRONTA UN DURO DESAFÍO FRENTE A UN PACHUCA EN ALZA

CLASH BETWEEN TWO MEXICAN SOCCER TITANS ON “FÚTBOL ESTELAR”: GUADALAJARA AND PACHUCA FACE EACH OTHER IN A PIVOTAL MATCH THIS SUNDAY AT 7PM ET ON TELEMUNDO

CHIVAS ASPIRES TO BE ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE PLAYOFFS AND FACES A TOUGH TEST AT HOME AGAINST A PACHUCA SQUAD THAT IS ON THE RISE

MIAMI –MARCH 6, 2013- The first half of the Liga MX season is officially over, and the true playoff chase is about to intensify on “Fútbol Estelar” with a quality encounter between two titans of Mexican soccer. Guadalajara and Pachuca face off at 7PM ET/6PM CT/4PM PT, only on Telemundo. This match-up will be narrated by a staple of Telemundo broadcasts such as Andrés Cantor, who will be joined by another mainstay such as Sammy Sadovnik with the commentary.

Pachuca is riding a wave of momentum as they are currently fifth in the standing, just five points away from the top, after defeating San Luis at home by a score of 2-1 in their last league match. Pachuca’s “X Factor” could be none other than Angel Reyna, who has scored two goals in the last two matches, including the game winner against San Luis. Another key component of Pachuca’s success could be Fernando Cavenaghi. The Argentinean forward scored two goals against Atlante in the Mexican Cup and played 75 minutes as a starter against San Luis.

Meanwhile, Chivas is currently in ninth place with 12 points and is one spot behind Pumas, owners of the last playoff spot if the season ended today. The squad from Guadalajara feels confident for its last home game before they host archrival America (that match can also be seen on Telemundo on March 31). That confidence is a byproduct of an undefeated record at home during this tournament with one win and three draws. Chivas has also never lost against Pachuca in Guadalajara since 2007, with three wins and two draws against them on its home field since then.

This match also has the added ingredient of the first match ever between Chivas coach Benjamin Galindo and Pachuca’s manager, Gabriel Caballero. Galindo and Caballero used to be teammates and won championships together with Santos in 1996 and Pachuca in 1999. Both of them will be on opposite sides of the field almost fifteen years later, and this time around one of their two teams will take a big step towards obtaining a postseason berth on Telemundo, home of the best Mexican soccer.
