National Women’s Soccer League Playoffs to Air on FOX Sports 2

CHICAGO – Following the historic launch of FOX Sports 1, America’s new sports network, the National Women’s Soccer League and FOX Sports Media Group announced today that the 2013 NWSL Playoffs are set to be carried live on sister channel, FOX Sports 2, starting  with the semifinals on Saturday, August 24.

U.S. National Team midfielder Lauren Holiday leads FC Kansas City into the first match-up of the playoffs against Canadian star forward Christine Sinclair and Portland Thorns FC at 2:00 PM ET at Verizon Wireless Field in Overland Park, Kan. The other semifinal kicks off at 8:00 PM ET when reigning FIFA World Player of the Year Abby Wambach and her NWSL Shield winning Western New York Flash squad face off against Mexican international Monica Ocampo and Sky Blue FC at Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester, N.Y.

FC Kansas City vs. Portland Thorns

Saturday, Aug. 24

2:00 PM ET – FOX Sports 2

Verizon Wireless Stadium – Overland Park, Kan.

Western New York Flash vs. Sky Blue FC
