Chivas has its sights set on a win to keep its postseason hopes alive, while Queretaro will attempt to avoid the dreaded relegation while keeping its own playoff chances intact. The current situation is extreme for both teams, but for different reasons. Chivas must win and await other results to find out whether it is still alive in the playoff chase. On the other hand, Queretaro currently holds the last of the eight postseason spots. However, they would be forced to miss out on the playoffs and face relegation if they don’t win their remaining two matches and/or Puebla draws or wins against Atlas this weekend.

The key players for each squad will be up front. Atlante is currently enjoying a two match winning streak, but Leon is also on an unbeaten run of five matches and wants to finish off on a high note with a victory at home.

Leon will rely on the skill of Carlos “Gullit” Peña, a vital part of last weekend’s last-minute draw at Chiapas, and awaits an Atlante side that had an inspired Esteban Paredes against Puebla. Paredes scored twice in his team’s 2-0 win.
