PATRICK MAHOMES MAKES FIRST VISIT TO LAMBEAU FIELD WHEN KANSAS CITY CHIEFS VISIT JORDAN LOVE AND GREEN BAY PACKERS IN WEEK 13 EDITION OF SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ON NBC, PEACOCK & UNIVERSO

November 28, 2023 By admin

Coverage Begins with Football Night in America at 7 p.m. ET Followed by 8:20 p.m. ET Kickoff

NFL Sundays Begin and End on Peacock with Exclusive Coverage Featuring Fantasy Football Pregame with Matthew Berry at 11 a.m. ET and Peacock Sunday Night Football Final Immediately After Each SNF Game

STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 28, 2023 – Two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes makes his first visit to Lambeau Field when the Kansas City Chiefs (8-3) visit Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers (5-6) in the Week 13 edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with Football Night in America, followed by kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET from Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., on NBC, Peacock, and Universo.

Mahomes – the two-time Super Bowl winner who won both the league MVP and Super Bowl MVP last season – makes his first visit to the iconic home of the Packers, which opened as City Stadium in 1957 and was re-named Lambeau Field in 1965 after former head coach Curly Lambeau. Mahomes is 23-4 (.852) in starts after Dec. 1 in his career, while the Packers have won 10 of their past 11 regular season home games after Dec. 1.

Sunday’s matchup sees the Chiefs and Packers meet for a 15th time, with Kansas City holding an 8-5-1 advantage in the all-time series. Sunday will also be a rematch of Super Bowl I, which the Vince Lombardi-coached Packers won, 35-10, in 1967.

The AFC West-leading Chiefs beat the division rival Las Vegas Raiders, 31-17, last week. Mahomes threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns, surpassing Dan Marino for the most games with at least two touchdown passes in a player’s first seven seasons (66). Seven-time All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce had 91 receiving yards on six receptions, becoming the fastest-ever tight end to reach 11,000 career receiving yards in NFL history (154 games), while rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice caught eight passes for 107 receiving yards and a score in the win.

The Packers have won three of their last four and remain in the playoff hunt. In a divisional matchup, the Packers beat the Detroit Lions, 29-22, on Thanksgiving. Love threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns and added 39 yards rushing to lead Green Bay to its second consecutive win. Second-year receiver Christian Watson had 94 receiving yards and a touchdown on five receptions, while the defense forced three turnovers, one of which resulted in a 27-yard fumble return touchdown.

Calling Chiefs-Packers is Mike Tirico (play-by-play); 17-time Emmy Award winner Cris Collinsworth (analyst); and Melissa Stark (sideline reporter). Three-time Super Bowl referee Terry McAulay is the Sunday Night Football rules analyst.

NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football is led by executive producer Rob Hyland and director Drew Esocoff. SNF has won a record 11 Sports Emmys for Outstanding Live Sports Series.

Football Night, the most-watched studio show in sports since its debut in 2006, begins every Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. The coordinating producer of FNIA is Matt Casey. FNIA is directed by Kaare Numme.

Peacock exclusively bookends NFL coverage every Sunday with Fantasy Football Pregame with Matthew Berry at 11 a.m. ET and its exclusive postgame show, Peacock Sunday Night Football Final following each Sunday Night Football game.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING:

Flexible scheduling will be used in Weeks 11-18. Additionally, in Weeks 5-10, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-17, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time.

For Week 18, two Saturday games and the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to January 8. The schedule does not list Saturday games or a Sunday night game in Week 18, but games with playoff implications will be moved to those time slots.  Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into primetime.
