NBC Sports to Present 10 Domestic FIS World Cup Events During 2023-24 Season Across NBC, Peacock and CNBC

STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 30, 2023 – The Xfinity Birds of Prey FIS Ski World Cup event will be presented this weekend across NBC, CNBC, and Peacock from Beaver Creek, Colo., beginning Saturday at 2 p.m. ET on CNBC and Peacock with the first run of the men’s downhill.

Since its creation in 1997, the Birds of Prey racecourse on Beaver Creek Mountain has been considered one of the most challenging in the United States. Featuring a vertical drop of 2,470 feet (757 meters), the course hosted both the 1999 and 2015 editions of the World Championships.

The U.S. Ski team at Beaver Creek is expected to be led by 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Super-G silver medalist Ryan Cochran-Siegle along with fellow Winter Olympians River Radamus, Bryce Bennett, and Jared Goldberg.

This weekend is expected to feature a competitive international field, headlined by defending Birds of Prey downhill and Super-G champion Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (Norway) and runner-up, in both events, Marco Odermatt (Switzerland). The 2022 Beijing Olympic giant slalom champion, Odermatt is coming off a 2023 season that saw him win world championships in both downhill and giant slalom. Kilde, a two-time Olympic medalist, took home the silver medals in downhill and Super-G at the 2023 World Championships.

Steve Schlanger will handle play-by-play alongside 1998 Nagano Olympic Super-G champion Picabo Street and former U.S. Ski Team member Steve Porino. Heather Cox will serve as an on-site reporter.

NBC Sports’ 2023-24 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup schedule spans two continents and three U.S. states and is highlighted by the prestigious Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbühel, Switzerland on Jan. 19-21. One of the oldest ski races in the world, the Hahnenkamm is also one of the most challenging. Home to the world-famous Streif course, it includes a 3,000-foot drop and sees skiers regularly top speeds of over 90 miles per hour. Daron Rahlves is the only American to ever win the Hahnenkamm World Cup downhill (2003).

Additionally, NBC Sports will present an elite lineup of domestic World Cups, including Palisades Tahoe, Calif. (Feb. 24-25), and Aspen, Colo., (March 2-3). A full schedule featuring FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and U.S. Ski & Snowboard events is below.

NBC Sports Remains Exclusive Home of Final 14 NASCAR Cup Series Races Across NBC, USA Network, and Peacock, Including Championship & Playoffs

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., and STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 29, 2023 – NASCAR and NBC Sports today announced a seven-year extension of their media rights agreement, continuing their long-standing partnership into the next decade. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Per the agreement, which begins in 2025, the final 14 NASCAR Cup Series races – including the Championship Race and Playoffs – will continue to be presented annually across a combination of NBC, USA Network, and Peacock. NBC Sports digital platforms will live stream all television coverage via authentication.

“We are thrilled that the NASCAR champion will continue to be crowned on our platforms for years to come,” said NBC Sports President Rick Cordella. “Whether it’s the unpredictability of a superspeedway, a Playoff cutoff race, or the championship finale, NBC Sports will use its wide array of platforms to present the dramatic conclusion to every NASCAR season for what will be 17 years at the end of this extension.”

“For a decade, NBC Sports has delivered some of the biggest moments in NASCAR to millions of fans, including their broadcasts of the playoffs and our season finale championship race,” said NASCAR President Steve Phelps. “They continue to be a tremendous partner and we can’t wait to watch the drama and excitement unfold with race fans everywhere across NBC platforms for another seven years.”

The long-standing partnership between NBC Sports and NASCAR dates to 2001, when NBC broadcast the second half of the season, including the Championship, for six seasons as part of a joint venture. NBC Sports and NASCAR partnered again with a 10-year agreement beginning in 2015 and running through the upcoming 2024 season. The new agreement begins in 2025.

In the ninth season of the current agreement, the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series on NBC, USA Network, and Peacock delivered a Total Audience Delivery of 2.47 million viewers across 20 races, up vs the comparable coverage in 2022 (2.45 million viewers), according to data provided by the Nielsen Company and Adobe Analytics.
