STAMFORD, Conn. – March 7, 2024 – NBC Sports continues coverage of the 2024 men’s Guinness Six Nations Rugby Championship this weekend with fourth round matches of one of the world’s oldest rugby championships live Saturday and Sunday exclusively on Peacock.

All matches throughout the 2024 Six Nations Championship – which culminates with the final three Round 5 matches on Saturday, March 16 – will be presented live on Peacock. Television coverage throughout the tournament includes same- or next-day encores across NBC and CNBC.

This weekend’s coverage begins Saturday at 9:15 a.m. ET on Peacock as second-place Scotland, who took down England, 30-21, in Round 3, visit Italy, who tied reigning runner-up France, 13-13, in Round 3. Later that day at 11:15 a.m. ET, defending champion Ireland, who currently sit in first place as the only undefeated team and defeated Wales, 31-7, in Round 3, visit England. Rounding out this week’s action is Wales hosting France this Sunday at 10 a.m. ET live on Peacock.

NBC Sports to Present Live Coverage of Semifinals and Finals from All Eight HSBC SVNS Tournaments on Peacock in 2023-24

STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 28, 2024 – Peacock exclusively streams over 25 hours of live coverage of the HSBC World Rugby SVNS Series this weekend, when the series makes its return to Los Angeles, Calif., at Dignity Health Sports Park, the future host venue of the 2028 L.A. Olympics, this weekend.

The HSBC SVNS Series is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments – which follows the Olympic format of seven players per side – featuring national teams in both men’s and women’s competition. Consisting of eight tournaments held around the world, teams compete for series points at each round, culminating with the final round in Madrid on May 31-June 2, 2024.

This weekend, Peacock will exclusively stream live coverage of men’s and women’s pool play, semifinals, and finals. Pool play begins this Friday, March 1, at 7:20 p.m. ET exclusively on Peacock, with quarterfinals and semifinals beginning Sunday, March 3, at 12:20 p.m. ET and finals later in the day at 7:30 p.m. ET. Participating men’s teams in this year’s 2023-24 HSBC SVNS Series include: USA, Canada, New Zealand, Samoa, South Africa, Argentina, Australia, Ireland, Spain, Fiji, France, and Great Britain.

Participating women’s teams in this year’s 2023-24 HSBC SVNS Series include: USA, Fiji, Great Britain, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Brazil, Ireland, Japan, Canada, France, and Spain.

Entering this weekend’s tournament, the U.S. sits fourth in the women’s SVNS Series standings behind leaders Australia, second-place New Zealand and third-place France. This weekend, the U.S. women are expected to be led by co-captains Naya Tapper and Lauren Doyle, as well as Ilona Maher.

In the men’s SVNS Series, the U.S. is eighth in the standings, but coming off a season-best fourth-place finish in last weekend’s SVNS tournament in Vancouver. The U.S. men are expected to feature veterans Perry Baker, Madison Hughes and captain Kevon Williams. Both U.S. women’s and men’s teams have qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

On the men’s side, Argentina has won the last three SVNS tournaments this season to take a commanding lead in the standings. On the women’s side, Australia won the first two, with Ireland and New Zealand winning the most recent pair. Additionally, the France men are expected to feature global 15s rugby star and 2024 Paris Olympics hopeful Antoine Dupont, who made his SVNS Series debut last weekend.

The Los Angeles 7s is the fifth of eight stops on the 2023-24 HSBC World Rugby SVNS Series, followed by Hong Kong, Singapore, and Madrid.

HSBC SVNS Series Returns to Los Angeles with Matches Held at Dignity Health Sports Park – Future Host Venue of 2028 L.A. Olympics – on March 2-3, 2024

STAMFORD, Conn. – November 30, 2023 – NBC Sports presents live coverage of the semifinals and finals for the season-opening event of the HSBC World Rugby SVNS Series this weekend, when the series makes its return to the United Arab Emirates at The Sevens Stadium this Sunday, Dec. 3, exclusively on Peacock.

Since the inception of the HSBC SVNS Series in 1999, the Dubai 7s has been the only tournament to host both the men’s and women’s series every year.

The HSBC SVNS Series is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments – which follows the Olympic format of seven players per side – featuring national teams in both men’s and women’s competition. Consisting of eight tournaments held around the world, teams compete for series points at each round, culminating with the final round in Madrid on May 31-June 2, 2024.

Participating women’s teams in this year’s Dubai 7s include: USA, Fiji, Great Britain, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Brazil, Ireland, Japan, Canada, France, and Spain.

New Zealand won both the men’s and women’s 2022-23 World Rugby SVNS Series championships. The “All Blacks Sevens” won a record 14th men’s series championship, while the “Black Ferns Sevens” captured a record seventh women’s series championship.

In 2022-23, the U.S. finished third in the women’s SVNS Series and 10th in the men’s SVNS series. This weekend, the U.S. women are expected to be led by co-captains Naya Tapper and Lauren Doyle, as well as Ilona Maher. On the men’s side, their Dubai roster features returning Eagles veterans Ben Pinkelman (captain) and Madison Hughes. The U.S. women and men have both qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Dubai 7s is the first of eight stops on the 2023-24 HSBC World Rugby SVNS Series, followed by Cape Town, Perth, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Madrid.

New Zealand and South Africa, who are tied for the most championships in Rugby World Cup history (three), meet this weekend in a rematch of the 1995 Rugby World Cup Final in Johannesburg, which was won by the Springboks, 15-12, in the nation’s first-ever Rugby World Cup appearance. At the end of the match, South African President Nelson Mandela famously presented the Webb Ellis Cup to Springboks captain François Pienaar.

South Africa and New Zealand have combined to win each of the past four Rugby World Cup titles: New Zealand in 2011 and 2015, and South Africa in 2007 and 2019. New Zealand is 3-1 all-time in Rugby World Cup Final appearances, while South Africa is 3-0.

Defending champions South Africa beat England, 16-15, in the Semifinals last weekend, earning their second consecutive one-point victory en route to the Final (29-28 over France in the Quarterfinals).

The All Blacks of New Zealand defeated Argentina, 44-6, last weekend to advance to the Final for the third time in the past four tournaments.

Argentina look to secure their second third-place finish at the Rugby World Cup (2007) after finishing fourth in the 2015 tournament. England finished as runners-up to South Africa in 2019 and have four total top-three finishes at the Rugby World Cup, including their only title in 2003.

Saturday’s Ireland-New Zealand match will be a repeat of the 2019 Rugby World Cup’s Quarterfinal, which saw the All Blacks win 46-14 en route to a third-place finish. Ireland, currently ranked World No. 1, went undefeated in pool play (4-0) and looks to bring home the country’s first Rugby World Cup championship.

On Sunday, host nation France, currently ranked World No. 2, takes on defending champion and World No. 3 South Africa in a meeting of global heavyweights. France, undefeated in pool play, took down the All Blacks in the tournament’s opening match on September 8; New Zealand then went on to win three consecutive matches to vault themselves into the Quarterfinals.

In total, four matches will be presented live this weekend with four additional top-ten teams in action, featuring World No. 7 Wales taking on World No. 8 Argentina this Saturday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. ET live on Peacock. An encore presentation will be broadcast later that day at 1 p.m. ET on NBC. On Sunday, Oct. 15, No. 6 England faces No. 10 Fiji at 11 a.m. ET live on Peacock, with an encore presentation later that day at Noon ET on NBC.
