Partnership Emphasizes US Lacrosse’s Commitment to Safety and Highlights Need for Safety Programs in Youth Sports Across the Country

MINNEAPOLIS, March 4, 2020 — SportsEngine, Inc., an NBC Sports Group company, and the leading provider of sport relationship management software, announced today that it has reached a milestone in its subsidiary National Center for Safety Initiatives’ (NCSI) partnership with US Lacrosse, conducting over 30,000 coach and volunteer background screens for the organization.

Baltimore, MD-based US Lacrosse is the national governing body for the sport of lacrosse and serves more than 450,000 members annually. Background screenings for US Lacrosse member coaches are covered in full as part of membership and are completed by NCSI, the exclusive background screening partner for US Lacrosse.

As part of the organization’s effort to bolster its commitment to safety and meet current safety guidelines and best practices, US Lacrosse requires all of its coaches to complete and pass a background check in order to be eligible to participate in lacrosse-related activities. The organization set a goal to have 30,000 coaches and volunteers background screened by April 2020 and US Lacrosse surpassed that goal in January 2020.

NCSI background checks are considered the “Gold Standard” for youth sports organizations and national governing bodies across the country and they are the only background check provider endorsed by the National Council of Youth Sports.

“A key part of our mission is to help provide safe and positive experiences for youth athletes and we are proud to see US Lacrosse leading the way to protect their athletes on and off the field,” stated Trish Sylvia, Vice President, NCSI. “US Lacrosse is a world-class organization setting the example for others in their commitment to safety and we look forward to continuing our partnership.”

“We’re proud of the progress we’ve made with NCSI as our background check provider,” stated Bruce Griffin, director for US Lacrosse’s Center for Sport Science. “We took it upon ourselves to evaluate the differences between background checks and we learned that while there are many options out there, not all background checks are created equal. As we begin to ramp up for the next season, we want our families to know that US Lacrosse stands for something vitally important – player safety.”

MINNEAPOLIS / May 16, 2019 – SportsEngine, Inc., an NBC Sports Group company, and the leading provider of Sport Relationship Management software announced today it has partnered with USA Volleyball (USAV), the national governing body for volleyball in the United States.

USAV has a long-standing relationship with SportsEngine, being partnered with the SportsEngine-owned companies AES, BracketPal and NCSI. This agreement, effective September 1, 2019, will make SportsEngine the member management technology provider of USA Volleyball, which boasts more than 370,000 members and 4,500 active clubs.

USA Volleyball and its 40 affiliated Regional Volleyball Associations (RVAs) will have the opportunity to use SportsEngine’s member management suite of tools to manage their regional, club and athlete membership data. This is a true online ecosystem with robust reporting, financial tools, enhanced communication, rostering and more that will provide for automated data sharing and eliminate duplicate efforts. The SportsEngine system will also integrate with third-party systems to provide up-to-the-minute information on memberships, ensuring that all participants are certified with the safety program requirements, and have completed a background check. Such efficiencies will allow for real-time access to information on memberships and certifications which support USAV’s safety initiatives.

“We are very honored and excited to form this partnership with USA Volleyball,” said Libby Kohlbeck, SportsEngine’s head of volleyball. “To have the ability to work with an elite organization to create and deliver an incredible technology experience for regions, club administrators, coaches, officials, volunteers and families is our goal here at SportsEngine. It’s exciting when our mission, vision, and values completely align with an organization as they do with USA Volleyball and we can’t wait to get started.”

USA Volleyball’s mission is to lead, serve and grow all areas of the sport. Volleyball continues to have tremendous growth in the United States and is the number one participatory sport in high school and college for women as well as the fastest growing sport among high school boys. USA Volleyball’s membership has grown every year since 1980 and has hit record levels again this season. The SportsEngine system will allow USAV to continue its upward trajectory by allowing a positive end-user experience for the athletes and their families.

“We are thrilled to work with SportsEngine to provide value to our regions, clubs and members,” stated Jamie Davis, CEO, USA Volleyball. “This partnership allows us to improve communication, support our “safety first” strategic priority, and provide a seamless membership experience across all of USA Volleyball.”

SPORTSENGINE, INC. REBRANDS CLASS MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE PLATFORM, SE STUDIO, TO GOMOTION

April 2, 2019 By admin

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN / April 2, 2019 – SportsEngine, Inc., an NBC Sports Group company, and the leading provider of Sport Relationship Management software announced today that SE Studio, the company’s software platform for class and studio-based sports, has rebranded to GoMotion.

The GoMotion software platform enables users to create and publish class schedules, view and communicate with members, collect fees, and manage online fundraisers via a custom website and integrated mobile app. The software is used primarily by gym or studio owners for classroom or studio-based sports and activities such as dance, all-star cheer, martial arts, gymnastics and ice skating.

Since the launch of SE Studio in March of 2018, the software platform has experienced rapid growth, validating the market demand for an all-in-one solution that specializes in serving studio and classroom-based sports and activities. The rebrand to GoMotion is in response to this demand, to provide clarity around what markets the software platform serves and to position it for expansion in its current and new markets.

“We are excited to announce the rebrand of SE Studio to GoMotion,” stated Tom Fristoe, Vice President, New Markets, SportsEngine, Inc. “The name GoMotion connects the forward movement in sports and technology and better reflects the complete, one-island class management solution we offer and the markets we serve, which include sports and activities that go beyond the studio and into the classroom, ice rink, gymnasium, tennis court, and more. We look forward to building upon its early success as we empower our customers to achieve unprecedented business results.”

“GoMotion is a forward-looking brand that fits perfectly into the SportsEngine, Inc. ecosystem,” stated Brian Bell, President, SportsEngine, Inc. “With GoMotion we’re positioned to expand the markets we serve to include really any sport or activity that can benefit from a best-in-class sport relationship management solution.”

Tina Walden, owner of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin-based Infinite Cheer and Tumbling, expressed praise for the platform’s functionality to help her growing business. “This is going to be a huge game changer for us as a micro gym,” stated Walden. “We are finally completely online. Registration, billing, auto credit card transactions, online waivers, etc. The best part is we have an iPad at the gym as a kiosk that people can do everything on.”

The platform remains owned and operated by SportsEngine, Inc. No action is needed by existing SE Studio customers as they will be transitioned with no interruption to GoMotion’s platform and mobile app.
