STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 12, 2023 – Reigning National Player of the Year Zach Edey and AP-ranked No. 3 Purdue (9-1) face No. 1 Arizona (8-0) in a massive early-season showdown between top teams this Saturday, Dec. 16, at 4:30 p.m. ET live exclusively on Peacock.

Part of the 2023 Indy Classic powered by Sports Tech HQ, Saturday’s Purdue-Arizona showdown takes place at Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The 2023 Indy Classic also features a matchup of conference-leading teams as Ball State (8-2) faces Indiana State (9-1) earlier in the day at 1:45 p.m. ET live exclusively on Peacock.

Calling both Arizona-Purdue and Ball State-Indiana State from Gainbridge Fieldhouse are NBC Sports’ Noah Eagle (play-by-play), Robbie Hummel (analyst), a three-time First-Team All-Big Ten honoree at Purdue from 2007-12, and Caroline Pineda (sideline reporter).

The B1G College Countdown pregame show, featuring host Ahmed Fareed and analysts Jordan Cornette and Josh Pastner¸ begins following Ball State-Indiana State live on Peacock.

4:30 p.m. p.m. ET: No. 1 Arizona vs. No. 3 Purdue

Purdue, the 2022-23 Big Ten champions, defeated Alabama, 92-86, on Saturday behind Edey’s 35 points and guard Braden Smith’s 27 points and eight assists. Edey – last season’s consensus National Player of the Year – leads the Big Ten averaging 24.8 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game, and ranks second in the conference with 2.6 blocks per game. The 7’4” center, who has scored 35 points in two of his past three games, is looking to become the first back-to-back Wooden Award winner since Virginia’s Ralph Sampson in 1982 and 1983.

Arizona, one of seven remaining undefeated teams in Division I this season, retained the nation’s No. 1 ranking this week after topping No. 23 Wisconsin, 98-73, on Saturday. Guard Caleb Love, a senior transfer from UNC, tied a season-high with 20 points in the win and leads the Wildcats averaging 14.1 points per game this season. Arizona has defeated three Top 25 teams this season, with wins over Duke, Michigan State, and Wisconsin.

Last season, Purdue earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, while Arizona – winners of the 2022-23 Pac-12 Tournament – was a No. 2 seed.

Purdue, in its Peacock debut this weekend, will make a school-high six regular-season appearances on Peacock this season.

1:45 p.m. ET: Ball State vs. Indiana State

In a matchup of conference-leading teams, the 2023 Indy Classic begins this Saturday with Ball State taking on Indiana State at 1:45 p.m. ET live on Peacock.

Leading the MAC, Ball State has won three straight games including an 83-71 victory over SIU Edwardsville on Sunday. Forward Basheer Jihad tallied a double-double in the win (27 points, 10 rebounds) and leads the Cardinals with 19.3 points per game this season.

Indiana State enters Saturday on an eight-game winning streak, most recently defeating Southern Indiana, 98-54, last weekend as six players scored in double figures.

NBC Sports’ Men’s Regular-Season Coverage Tips Off on USA Network This Saturday as Dayton Hosts Troy at 12:30 p.m. ET

STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 7, 2023 – More than 30 Atlantic 10 Conference men’s and women’s basketball games will be presented by NBC Sports during the 2023-24 season, including exclusive coverage of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Men’s Championship second round and quarterfinals across USA Network and NBC Sports digital platforms.

Season coverage tips off on USA Network this Saturday, Dec. 9, when the Dayton Flyers host the Troy Trojans at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio, at 12:30 p.m. ET. NBC Sports’ coverage of men’s regular-season conference play culminates with a doubleheader on USA Network on Saturday, March 9, as with the Saint Louis Billikens visit the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at 12:30 p.m. ET followed by the George Mason Patriots hosting the Richmond Spiders at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Exclusive live coverage of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Men’s Championship second round and quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 13, and Thursday, March 14, will be presented on USA Network. A total of eight A-10 Championship matchups from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., will air on the cable network on both days.

VCU is the reigning Atlantic 10 champion. In the 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the No. 12 seed Rams fell to No. 5 seed Saint Mary’s in the First Round, 63-51.

Three A-10 women’s games will be presented live on NBC Sports digital platforms, beginning with George Mason visiting the Saint Joseph’s Hawks on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. ET.

7 p.m. ET: Wisconsin vs. Michigan State

Wisconsin (6-2) has won five consecutive games, including a 75-64 victory over AP-ranked No. 3 Marquette on Saturday. Junior guard Max Klesmit led the Badgers with 21 points in the win.

Michigan State (4-3) defeated Georgia State, 85-55, in their most recent game on Nov. 28. Senior guard Tyson Walker leads the Spartans averaging 20.5 points per game, ranking third in the Big Ten this season.

Tonight’s game marks the first Big Ten matchup of the season for both Wisconsin and Michigan State.

Calling Wisconsin-Michigan State from the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Mich., are NBC Sports’ Noah Eagle (play-by-play) and Robbie Hummel (analyst), a three-time First-Team All-Big Ten honoree at Purdue from 2007-12.

9 p.m. ET: Indiana vs. Michigan

Indiana (6-1) has won three consecutive games after defeating Maryland, 65-53, on Friday, Dec. 1, as sophomore center Kel’el Ware paced the Hoosiers with a double-double (18 points and 14 rebounds).

Michigan (4-4) looks to rebound from an 86-83 overtime loss at Oregon on Saturday as the Ducks hit a game-winning three pointer with 1.4 seconds remaining in OT. Wolverines sophomore guard Dug McDaniel scored a game-high 33 points in the loss.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 16, 2023 – The Notre Dame women’s basketball team faces Illinois in the second annual Citi Shamrock Classic this Saturday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, headlining the college basketball slate across NBC Sports this weekend.

The No. 16 Fighting Irish are 2-1 this season after defeating Northwestern, 110-52, yesterday as guards Hannah Hidalgo and Sonia Citron each scored 20+ points for a second consecutive game. Notre Dame finished 27-6 last season and earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Women’s Tournament, reaching the Sweet 16 before falling to No.2-seed Maryland.

Illinois, who reached the Big Ten Tournament Finals and earned a No. 11-seed in the NCAA Women’s Tournament last season, are 2-1 this season after defeating St. Peter’s 103-33 on Wednesday.

Zora Stephenson (play-by-play), LaChina Robinson (analyst) and Isis Young (sideline reporter) will call the game live from the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. Stephenson, who called the inaugural Citi Shamrock Classic last season on NBC and Peacock, will also call Big Ten Women’s Basketball games exclusively on Peacock in 2023-24. Peacock’s exclusive slate of Big Ten’s women’s basketball begins in January and features more than 20 games this season.

Jordan Cornette hosts Saturday’s halftime coverage alongside 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year and Indiana Fever forward-center Aliyah Boston, who will make her broadcasting debut.

As part of Saturday’s Citi Shamrock Classic, NBCU Academy – a journalism training and development program designed to prepare college students and young professionals for careers in the news and media technology industry – will be on-site to host a seminar for Notre Dame and Illinois students.

Following Saturday’s Notre Dame women’s basketball game, the No. 19 Fighting Irish football team hosts Wake Forest at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock in its regular-season home finale.

Morehead State topped Mercer, 74-66, on Tuesday to improve to 2-2 on the season. Both of Morehead State’s losses this season have come to ranked opponents, falling to No. 22 Alabama on Nov. 6 and No. 2 Purdue on Nov. 10.

Calling Morehead State-Penn State from the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Penn., are Jason Knapp (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst).

Saturday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. ET: USC Upstate vs. Minnesota

The Golden Gophers (2-0) are set to make their second appearance on Peacock this weekend, after defeating UTSA, 102-76, last week as part of a Peacock-exclusive tripleheader. Forwards Dawson Garcia (22 points) and Isaiah Ihnen (20) led Minnesota in the victory.

USC Upstate improved to 2-2 after topping East Carolina, 83-81, last night.

Steve Schlanger (play-by-play) will call Saturday’s game from Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minn., alongside analyst Tre Demps.

4 p.m. ET: Oregon State vs. Nebraska

Led by head coach Fred Hoiberg, Nebraska is off to a 4-0 start for the first time since the 2018-19 after beating Stony brook, 84-63, yesterday.

Oregon State is 3-0 this season after defeating Appalachian State, 81-71, on Tuesday.

Oregon State-Nebraska, which is being contested from the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Saturday, will be called from by Steve Burkowski (play-by-play) and Robbie Hummel (analyst).

STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 8, 2023 – Peacock’s exclusive slate of Big Ten men’s basketball – featuring 30+ games streaming live this season – continues with a quadrupleheader this Friday, Nov. 10.

Coverage on Friday begins with the B1G College Countdown pregame show at 6:30 p.m. ET on Peacock, featuring host Matt McCall alongside analysts Jordan Cornette and Josh Pastner.

7 p.m. ET: No. 15 Texas A&M vs. Ohio State

Ohio State, which advanced to the Big Ten tournament semifinals last year after going 13-18 in the regular-season, defeated Oakland, 79-73, in their season-opener on Monday. Senior forward Zed Key led the Buckeyes with 17 points and eight rebounds in the win.

AP-preseason No. 15 Texas A&M, which finished second in the SEC last season and earned a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament, defeated Texas A&M-Commerce, 78-46, on Monday to begin the season 1-0.

Calling Texas A&M-Ohio State from The Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio, are NBC Sports’ Noah Eagle (play-by-play) alongside analyst Robbie Hummel, a three-time First-Team All-Big Ten honoree at Purdue from 2007-12.

In addition to Friday’s Texas A&M-Ohio State basketball game, Eagle will also call this Saturday’s B1G Saturday Night football game as the No. 1 Buckeyes host Michigan State (7:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock).

7:30 p.m. ET: UTSA vs. Minnesota

Minnesota earned a season-opening win with an 80-60 victory over Bethune-Cookman on Monday, led by forward Dawson Garcia’s double-double effort (23 points, 14 rebounds).

UTSA, in the Roadrunners’ first season in the American Athletic Conference, opened their season with a 78-68 overtime victory over Western Illinois this week.

Rich Lerner (play-by-play) will call Friday’s game from Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minn., alongside analyst John Giannini.

8 p.m. ET: Alabama State vs. Iowa

Iowa, which advanced to its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament last season as a No. 8 seed, defeated North Dakota, 110-68, on Tuesday to open the season as guard Payton Sandfort scored 21 points and forward Ben Krikke added 18.

Alabama State looks to bounce back from its season-opening defeat to Ole Miss, 69-59, on Monday.

Alabama State-Iowa will be called from Carver–Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City by Steve Burkowski (play-by-play) and Tre Demps (analyst).

9 p.m. ET: No. 9 Tennessee vs. Wisconsin

Wisconsin began its 2023-24 campaign with a 105-76 victory over Arkansas State on Monday as the Badgers look to get back to the NCAA Tournament after advancing to the NIT semifinals last season.

No. 9 Tennessee, which finished 25-11 last season and reached the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen as a No. 4 seed, opened its season with an 80-48 victory over Tennessee Tech this week.

Terry Gannon (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) will call Tennessee-Wisconsin from the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisc., on Friday.

College Basketball Tripleheader at Wells Fargo Center to Determine Big 5 Champion From Six Philadelphia-Area Men’s Programs

PHILADELPHIA – Nov. 7, 2023 – NBC Sports Philadelphia Plus and Peacock will present live coverage of the inaugural MHS Lift Big 5 Classic college basketball same-day tripleheader at Wells Fargo Center on Dec. 2, beginning at 2 p.m. ET. The new series format of the Big 5 will determine the champion from six Philadelphia-area men’s teams: Drexel, La Salle, Penn, Saint Joseph’s, Temple and Villanova.

All three matchups of the inaugural event, including the championship game, will be presented on NBC Sports Philadelphia Plus and stream live on Peacock at 2 p.m. ET, 4:45 p.m. ET and 7:30 p.m. ET (times subject to change), respectively. The championship game will also encore on NBC Sports Philadelphia on Dec. 3 at 9 p.m. ET. Announcers and other details will be announced at a later date.

The seeds for the Dec. 2 tripleheader will be determined by matchups played this month. For this year’s Big 5 series, the six schools are separated into three-team pods: Pod 1: Temple, La Salle, and Drexel; Pod 2: Villanova, Saint Joseph’s, and Penn. Each team will play the other two teams from their pod at their individual on-campus arenas from Nov. 7 to 29 to determine seeding for the Big 5 Classic on Dec. 2. One-seed teams from each pod will compete for the Big 5 championship, second-seed teams will compete for third place, and the third-seed teams will compete for fifth place.

CRUCIAL CONFERENCE MATCHUPS HIGHLIGHT BIG TEN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ON PEACOCK

Last season, the Big Ten had five teams ranked in the season-ending AP Top 25 poll – the second-most of any conference – including: No. 2 Indiana, No. 3 Iowa, No. 7 Maryland, No. 12 Ohio State, and No. 18 Michigan. Each of these schools will make multiple appearances exclusively on Peacock this season, including eight head-to-head matchups.

The Big Ten sent a record-tying seven schools to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament last season, including three to the NCAA Elite Eight.

The Peacock schedule tips off on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 9 p.m. ET as Clark and Iowa, who reached the NCAA Women’s Tournament Finals last season before falling to LSU, host Michigan State from Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

On Sun., Jan. 21, Iowa visits Ohio State at Noon ET in a game which will be presented live on both Peacock and NBC.

In a matchup of the Big Ten’s top two regular-season teams last season, Indiana hosts Iowa on Feb. 22 live on Peacock. In last year’s final meeting between the schools (Feb. 26, 2023), Clark led the Hawkeyes to a dramatic one-point win, 86-85, hitting a game-winning buzzer-beating three-pointer.

Games featuring Top 25 teams in last season’s year-end AP poll also include: Ohio State at Maryland (Jan. 17), Indiana at Maryland (Jan. 31), Michigan at Iowa (Feb. 15), Michigan at Ohio State (Feb. 28), and Maryland at Indiana (Mar. 3).

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

Clark returns to the Hawkeyes after being named the Women’s College Player of the Year, the Big Ten Player of the Year, and a unanimous AP First-Team All-America selection as a junior, averaging 27.3 points, 8.6 assists, and 7.1 rebounds per game last season.

En route to leading Iowa to the NCAA Tournament Finals, Clark became the first player in Division I women’s basketball history to record more than 1,000 points and 300 assists in the same season. Clarks enters this season with 11 career triple-doubles, second-most all-time (Sabrina Ionescu, 26).

Indiana forward Mackenzie Holmes, the 2022-23 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, joins Clark as returning AP First-Team All-Americans after averaging a team-high 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game for the Hoosiers last season.

Big Ten Freshman of the Year Cotie McMahon returns to Ohio State to lead a Buckeyes team that advanced to the Elite Eight as a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Women’s Tournament last season.
