Total Audience Delivery of NHL All-Star Game on Broadcast Television and NBC Sports Digital Averages 2.28 Million Viewers

NBC Average Viewership of 2.262 Million Viewers is Best for All-Star Game Since 2004

STAMFORD, Conn. – January 30, 2017 – NBC Sports’ presentation of the 2017 NHL All-Star Game averaged a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 2.28 million viewers across NBC and NBC Sports Digital platforms, according to Fast National data released by The Nielsen Company, and digital data from Adobe Analytics.

The NBC-only broadcast averaged 2.262 million viewers, up 42% vs. the 2016 NHL All-Star Game on NBCSN (1.595 million) and up 46% vs. NBC’s 2015-16 NHL regular-season average (1.545 million). This year’s game (3:39-7 p.m. ET), which marked the event’s return to network television, was the most-watched NHL All-Star Game since 2004, and delivered a 1.32 household rating, up 47% vs. 2016 (0.90; NBCSN).

Viewership of the game peaked in the 6:45-7 p.m. ET quarter hour, as more than 2.5 million viewers (2.529 million) watched the Metropolitan Division, led by Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby, All-Star Game MVP Wayne Simmonds, and head coach Wayne Gretzky, defeat the Pacific Division by a score of 4-3 in the championship game.

This year marked the second iteration of the 3-on-3 tournament format to the All-Star Game, inspired by the league’s 3-on-3 overtime format, which began last season.

The Average Minute Audience for the NHL All-Star Game live stream via the NBC Sports app and NBCSports.com was 18,600 viewers.

STAMFORD, Conn. – January 30, 2017 – Kicking off mid-week Premier League action, fourth-place Liverpool host first-place Chelsea and Premier League joint-leading scorer Diego Costa (15 goals) tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The Reds look to revive their title hopes with a win at home against Chelsea, who sit eight points clear at the top of the table. In the last meeting between the teams in September, Liverpool defeated Chelsea 2-1.

NBC Sports Group’s lead Premier League play-by-play announcer Arlo White calls the match, joined by Lee Dixon at Anfield. Coverage begins at 2 p.m. ET with Premier League Live on NBCSN.

Following the match, NBCSN presents a special, live two-hour block featuring Goal Zone and Premier League Live: Transfer Deadline Day show at 5 p.m. ET. The program will cover breaking news and include insights and analysis on all the latest transfers. Rebecca Lowe hosts the programs, joined by former Major League Soccer and U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Kyle Martino and former Premier League footballer Robbie Mustoe.

Live Premier League match coverage continues this Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. ET with Premier League Live followed by Manchester United v. Hull City at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Wayne Rooney broke Manchester United’s all-time scoring record in the club’s last Premier League match, scoring his 250th goal for the club to secure a 1-1 draw at Stoke City.

NBCSN will premiere new back-to-back episodes It’s Called Football Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET. Hosted by the YouTube sensation F2 Freestylers, the series presents viewers with the jaw-dropping trick shots the F2 Freestylers have become known for, as well as an in-depth look at what makes the Premier League unlike any other league in the world. West Ham United will be the featured club for the 6 p.m. ET show on Wednesday, followed by Southampton at 6:30 p.m. ET.
