Best-Selling Author and Renowned Sports Journalist John Feinstein Joins SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio

Feinstein joins Bruce Murray to host “Beyond the Brink” weekdays (10:00 am – 2:00 pm ET) on SiriusXM channel 86

Debuts March 8 at the ACC Tournament

NEW YORK – March 6, 2012 – Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that best-selling author and columnist John Feinstein has joined Mad Dog Radio, the all-sports talk channel available to listeners nationwide on SiriusXM channel 86.

Starting Thursday, March 8, Feinstein will join Bruce Murray to host the newly named Beyond the Brink every weekday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm ET.  Feinstein and Murray will debut their show at the ACC Basketball Tournament, broadcasting live from Atlanta’s Philips Arena on Thursday and Friday.  Throughout the year, Feinstein and Murray will cover the spectrum of sports on their show, interviewing high profile guests, debating topics and talking with callers nationwide about the headline stories of the day.

“I’ve always enjoyed doing radio because it gives you a chance to talk in detail on a lot of different topics and the chance to do it on SiriusXM on a daily basis with an old friend like Bruce is something I’m really looking forward to taking on,” said Feinstein.  “I’m really grateful to SiriusXM for giving me this opportunity and I think this is going to be a lot of fun.”

“John is a unique addition to the SiriusXM team,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer.  “He is one of the world’s finest sports journalists and Mad Dog Radio, with its hard-hitting and unrestrained style, will be an ideal platform for him.  Together, John and Bruce will make Beyond the Brink one of sports talk’s most engaging and thought-provoking shows.”

“John has one of the most prominent and respected voices in sports and we’re thrilled to have him join us on Mad Dog Radio,” said the channel’s originator, Christopher ‘Mad Dog’ Russo.  “He and Bruce make an excellent pair as both are passionate and outspoken.  Our listeners will really enjoy the give-and-take these guys will produce on the air every day.”

Feinstein is one of the nation’s most successful and prolific sports authors, having written 28 books that delve into a wide range of professional and college sports.  His works include the two best-selling non-fiction sports books in history – A Good Walk Spoiled, about life on the PGA Tour, and A Season on the Brink, which chronicled a year in the life of the Indiana University basketball team and its enigmatic coach, Bob Knight, and was later adapted into an ESPN film.  Feinstein’s style takes his readers deep into the subject matter, to places most fans have no access to – locker rooms, coaches’ offices, team planes and bus rides.  With intricate detail, the author vividly depicts life on a championship college basketball team, during an NFL season, on the PGA Tour, inside the Army-Navy rivalry and many other sports themes.

As a columnist, Feinstein has covered many of sport’s biggest events and personalities over the last 35 years.  A 1977 graduate of Duke University, he writes for The Washington Post and Golf Digest and has contributed to Sports Illustrated, The National Sports Daily and the Sporting News.

SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio is headlined by renowned sports talk personality Christopher ‘Mad Dog’ Russo.  The exclusive all-sports talk channel covers the world of sports with engaging talk, high profile interviews, up-to-the-moment news and live broadcasts from the biggest sporting events.  For more info on Mad Dog Radio visit siriusxm.com/maddogradio.  Follow the channel on Twitter @MadDogRadio.

Bill Polian Signs On With SiriusXM NFL Radio

Former Indianapolis Colts Vice Chairman and six-time “Executive of the Year”

makes his broadcast debut January 30

NEW YORK – January 27, 2012 – Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that former Indianapolis Colts Vice Chairman Bill Polian has joined SiriusXM NFL Radio, the only radio channel dedicated to the NFL 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Polian will make his debut on Monday, January 30, on Late Hits (8:00 – 11:00 pm ET). He’ll host the show again on Wednesday, February 1, and Friday, February 3, and will be heard regularly on the channel throughout the year. SiriusXM NFL Radio is available to listeners nationwide on channel 88 on Sirius and XM Premier (formerly known as “The Best of Sirius”).

“I’ve been a guest on SiriusXM NFL Radio many times and it is an outstanding source for league news and information,” said Polian. “Now I get to be the one asking the questions. I’m excited to get on the air to talk shop with players, executives and coaches around the league and interact daily with many of the great fans who have helped make the NFL the most successful sports league in the world.”

“Bill Polian is one of the most respected front office executives the NFL has had and we’re thrilled to have him join our All-Star team of SiriusXM NFL Radio analysts,” said Steve Cohen, SiriusXM’s SVP of Sports Programming. “When it comes to evaluating talent, breaking down a draft class, assessing rosters and other matters that are critical to the success of an NFL team, there’s nobody better. Our listeners will learn a great deal from him when he’s on our airwaves.”

Polian built a reputation throughout his front office career as a superb talent evaluator and executive. He served as President and Vice Chairman of the Indianapolis Colts from 1997 through 2011, overseeing all football and administrative aspects of the club and guiding the franchise through an extraordinary period of success. Under Polian’s direction, the Colts selected quarterback Peyton Manning with the #1 pick in the 1998 NFL Draft. Manning went on to become a four-time league MVP, leading a long list of players signed by Polian who went on to become stars including Dwight Freeney, Dallas Clark, Edgerrin James, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and many others. During Polian’s tenure, the Colts went to the playoffs 11 times, won eight division titles and two AFC Championship games, and defeated the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI.

Before joining the Colts, Polian was the first general manager of the expansion Carolina Panthers, leading the team’s front office from 1994 to 1997. Remarkably, the Panthers went to the NFC Championship game in only its second year of existence. Prior to his tenure in Carolina, Polian was the general manager of the Buffalo Bills for seven seasons. He was promoted to the position at the tail end of the 1985 campaign as the team was finishing up its second consecutive 2-14 season. The Bills would go on to make the playoffs in six consecutive seasons (1988-93) and win four consecutive AFC Conference Championships (1990-93).

In his 24 seasons as a general manager with Indianapolis, Carolina and Buffalo, Polian’s teams made 17 playoff, eight championship game and five Super Bowl appearances. He served as Vice President of Football Development for the NFL during the 1993 season.
