NEW YORK – June 14, 2011 – Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) will offer ESPN Radio’s live hole-by-hole coverage of the 111th U.S. Open Golf Championship, running Thursday, June 16, through Sunday, June 19, at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.
Live play-by-play will air Thursday and Friday (10:00am-4:00 pm ET), Saturday and Sunday (2:00-8:00 pm/conclusion ET) on ESPN Xtra, SiriusXM channel 85.
The U.S. Open Championship is considered by many to be the most grueling 72-hole test in golf with its signature length and high rough putting a premium on both distance and accuracy. This year’s field will include World #1 Luke Donald, Phil Mickelson, defending U.S. Open Champion Graeme McDowell, Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer, Rory McIlroy and many others.
In addition to the live tournament coverage available on ESPN Xtra, SiriusXM will offer daily golf talk, news and analysis throughout U.S. Open week on the PGA TOUR Network channel, channel 93 on XM and channel 208 on Sirius Premier (formerly known as “The Best of XM”). Hosts Matt Adams and Brian Katrek will host their daily shows live from Congressional each weekday from 7:00 to 10:00 am ET and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm ET.
