New Unscripted Reality Series ‘Undrafted’ Receives Emmy Nomination in First Year

NFL Films Receives 14 Sports Emmy Award Nominations – Including 4 for ‘Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Atlanta Falcons’

NFL Media – comprised of NFL Network, NFL Films, NFL RedZone, NFL.com, NFL Mobile and NFL Now – received 18 Sports Emmy Award nominations, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced today.
NFL Media’s unscripted reality series Undrafted, which showcased the journeys of undrafted players seeking to pursue their dreams of playing in the NFL, received a nomination in the Outstanding Sports Documentary Series category after just its first season. Undrafted was produced by NFL Media in association with Mandalay.
NFL Network and DIRECTV’s Rich Eisen earned a nomination in the category of Outstanding Sports Personality – Studio Host for his work on NFL Network’s NFL GameDay Morning, Thursday Night Football pregame and postgame shows and The Rich Eisen Show, in addition to various other NFL Network programs. This is Eisen’s fourth career Emmy nomination.
For the second consecutive year, the NFL’s national campaign, “Together We Make Football” which celebrated America’s love of football, was nominated for a Sports Emmy in the Outstanding New Approaches – Sports Programming category. A truly collaborative effort across all NFL Media platforms, Together We Make Football utilized the production strengths of NFL Films along with harnessing digital integration on NFL.com and the 32 club sites, programming integration on NFL Network, and social media assets from across the NFL.
Together We Make Football told the stories of men, women, and children from across the United States, detailing how football has impacted their lives and their love for the game. Additionally, NFL Digital Media’s NFL UP! – which won a Sports Emmy Award last year – received a second nomination this year in the category of Outstanding New Approaches Sports Programming – Short Format. In the Outstanding Sports Documentary Series, NFL Media received half of the nominations. For the fourth consecutive year, the critically-acclaimed NFL Network/NFL Films series A Football Life was recognized with a nomination in a series category. NFL Media also received nominations in the Documentary Series category with Undrafted and Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Atlanta Falcons.
NFL Network received five total nominations as a network.
NFL Films – the highly decorated production unit of NFL Media – received 14 Sports Emmy nominations, including four for Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Atlanta Falcons.
For the past six years, NFL Media has won in the Outstanding Post Produced Audio/Sound category. This year, NFL Media received two nominations in that category with Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Atlanta Falcons and Inside the NFL: Super Bowl XLIX Season 7 Finale.
Additionally, for the past three years, NFL Media has won in the Outstanding Music Composition/Direction/Lyrics category, and has received two nominations in that category this year with Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Atlanta Falcons and Road to the Super Bowl.
Finally, both NFL Turning Point and Sound FX: Super Bowl XLVIII received nominations in the Outstanding Edited Sports Event Coverage category for the second consecutive year.
The 36th Annual Sports Emmys Awards will be presented on Tuesday, May 5 in New York City at the Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Time Warner Center.
