Live Coverage of Stage 1 Begins Saturday at 12:40 p.m. ET on Peacock

STAMFORD, Conn. – August 23, 2023 – NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2023 Vuelta a España – the final Grand Tour of the season – begins this Saturday, August 26, at 12:40 p.m. ET on Peacock. Peacock will present live coverage of all 21 stages of the race, concluding with the final stage on Sunday, September 17, at 11:05 a.m. ET.

The three-week race begins in Barcelona and travels through Andorra, France, and Spain, finishing in Madrid. The 21-stage race covers a total distance of 3,153.8 km (1,959.7 miles).

Headlining the 2023 Vuelta a España are two-time reigning Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma), three-time Vuelta a España winner Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma), defending Vuelta a España winner Remco Evenepoel (Deceuninck—Quick-Step), and top American Sepp Kuss (Jumbo-Visma).

If any rider from Jumbo-Visma wins the overall general classification title, it will be the first time in which a team has won all three Grand Tours in the same year. Roglic won the Giro d’Italia in May while Vinegegaard defended his Tour de France title in July.

Cycling commentators and former professional cyclists Bob Roll and Christian Vande Velde, a two-time Olympian, will call the action for all 21 stages.

STAMFORD, Conn. – August 17, 2022 – NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2022 Vuelta a España – the final Grand Tour of the season – begins this Friday, August 19, at 12:30 p.m. ET on Peacock and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. Peacock will present live coverage of all 21 stages of the race, concluding with the final stage on Sunday, September 11, at 11:20 a.m. ET.

The three-week race begins in Utrecht in the Netherlands and travels through Belgium and Spain, finishing in Madrid. The 21-stage race covers a total distance of 3,280.5 km (2,038 miles).

STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 19, 2020 – NBC Sports’ live coverage of all 18 stages of the 2020 Vuelta a España – the final Grand Tour of the season – begins tomorrow, Oct. 20, at 9 a.m. ET on Peacock Premium, NBC Sports Gold’s “Cycling Pass,” and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.

NBC Sports Gold’s coverage of the Vuelta a España will include extensive data rich features in addition to its live, commercial-free coverage of the event (more details below).

Coverage concludes on Sunday, Nov. 18, in Madrid with Stage 18 live at 9 a.m. ET on Peacock Premium, NBC Sports Gold, and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. NBCSN will televise encore presentations of select stages throughout the race, beginning with Stage 1 tomorrow at 1 a.m. ET.

The Vuelta, which will run a reduced 18 stages this year, will cover a total distance of more than 1,700 miles. The 2020 race was originally scheduled to begin August 14 before being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2019 Vuelta winner Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma), who finished in second place in last month’s Tour de France, two-time Vuelta winner Chris Froome (INEOS Grenadiers) and 2019 Giro d’Italia winner Richard Carapaz are expected to headline the field. They are joined by Roglic’s Jumbo-Visma teammates Tom Dumoulin and American Sepp Kuss, who finished among the Tour de France’s top climbers in his first career Tour this year, last year’s Vuelta runner up Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team) and American Tejay van Garderen (EF Pro Cycling).

In addition, on Sunday, Nov. 18, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present live coverage of the women’s Madrid Challenge, a one-day race through the streets of Madrid, at Noon ET.

Analysts Bob Roll and former professional cyclist Christian Vande Velde will call race action remotely from NBC Sports Group’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Anthony McCrossan will provide play-by-play commentary for 2020 Vuelta a España coverage on NBC Sports Gold, joined by analyst Hannah Walker.

Data Rich Features Available with NBC Sports Gold’s “Cycling Pass” In Addition to Live, Commercial-Free Digital Coverage of all 21 Stages

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA to Present Coverage of Every Stage; Encore Coverage of Select Stages on NBCSN

STAMFORD, Conn. – August 20, 2019 – NBC Sports begins live coverage of all 21 stages of the 2019 Vuelta a España – the final Grand Tour of the season – this Saturday, August 24, at 12:35 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Gold’s “Cycling Pass.”

NBC Sports Gold’s coverage of the Vuelta a España will include extensive data rich features in addition to its live, commercial-free coverage of the event (more details below).

Coverage concludes on Sunday, September 15, in Madrid with Stage 21 live at 10:45 a.m. ET on NBC Sports Gold, and at 1 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. NBCSN will televise encore presentations of select stages throughout the race, beginning with Stage 1 on Saturday, August 24 at 1 a.m. ET.

The Vuelta will cover a total distance of more than 2,000 miles. Giro d’Italia winner Richard Carapaz and 2016 Vuelta winner Nairo Quintana and reigning world champion Alejandro Valverde of Movistar Team are expected to headline the field. They are joined by last year’s second runner up Miguel Ángel López (Astana); last year’s third runner-up Steven Kruijswijk (Jumbo-Visma) is also expected to compete after a third-place finish in the Tour de France; as well as Esteban Chaves (Mitchelton-Scott), who had a third-place finish in the 2016 Vuelta and is coming off a year-long battle with illness.

American Tejay van Garderen (Education First) also returns to competition after a crash in the Tour de France, highlighting a field of nine U.S. riders in this year’s Vuelta. NBCSN will feature a special “Ask Tejay” segment throughout the Vuelta, where fans can submit questions for van Garderen to answer on-air using the hashtag #asktejay on social media.

Phil Liggett calls the action for Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA and NBCSN coverage, joined by analyst Bob Roll. Matthew Keenan will provide play-by-play commentary for 2019 Vuelta a España coverage on NBC Sports Gold, joined by analyst David McKenzie.

In addition, on Thursday, September 19, at 2 a.m. ET, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA and NBC Sports Gold will present coverage of the women’s Madrid Challenge, a one-day race through the streets of Madrid.
