STAMFORD, Conn. – October 31, 2022 – 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Jade Carey, 2020 Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Jordan Chiles, and 2021 world bronze medalist Brody Malone headline NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2022 World Gymnastics Championships, beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. ET live exclusively on Peacock from Liverpool Arena in England.

Peacock will exclusively present live coverage of all finals throughout the week, concluding with the live apparatus finals on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 8:15 a.m. ET. NBC will present an encore presentation of highlights from the event on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Noon ET.

The U.S. women’s team is led by Carey, the Tokyo Olympics floor exercise gold medalist, and Chiles, who won a silver medal in the Tokyo team event and finished third in the all-around at the 2022 U.S. Championships. The U.S. team also features Paris Olympic hopeful Shilese Jones, who along with Carey qualified in the top three for the women’s all-around final this week.

On the international side, 2021 world vault champion and Tokyo Olympic vault champion Rebeca Andrade (Brazil), Tokyo Olympic beam silver medalist Tang Xijing (China), and Great Britain’s Jessica Gadirova and Alice Kinsella, both team bronze medalists at the Tokyo Olympics, are all expected to compete.

Tokyo Olympian and 10-time NCAA champion Malone highlights the U.S men’s team. Malone, the 2021 and 2022 all-around U.S. champion, will be up against a competitive international field that includes two-time Olympic gold medalist Daiki Hashimoto (Japan) and defending world all-around champion Zhang Boheng (China). 2021 Pommel Horse world champion Stephen Nedoroscik is also expected to compete for the Americans.

The top three nations in Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s team finals will automatically qualify for team spots in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Terry Gannon will provide play-by-play for all events. 2008 Beijing Olympic silver medalist Sam Peszek will serve as analyst for women’s team and all-around events, while 1984 Los Angeles Olympic gold medalist Tim Daggett will serve as analyst for men’s team and all-around events. 2016 Rio Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez will provide analysis for the apparatus finals, while three-time Olympian John Roethlisberger will serve as reporter for all events.

STAMFORD, Conn. – August 17, 2022 – Tokyo Olympic medalists Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles and defending U.S. all-around men’s champion Brody Malone headline NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2022 U.S. Gymnastics Championships from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, beginning tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET on Peacock and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA with the first of two sessions featuring the senior men.

This week’s competition is highlighted by Tokyo Olympic floor exercise gold medalist Carey, who is also the only athlete entered in the senior women’s field this week who has won an individual U.S. championship (vault in 2017). Other notable athletes expected to compete include Tokyo Olympic team silver medalist Chiles, 2021 U.S. all-around champion and Tokyo Olympian Malone, as well as Tokyo Olympians Yul Moldauer and Shane Wiskus in the men’s field and world medalists Leanne Wong and Kayla DiCello in the women’s field. The men’s event will also feature 2021 world pommel horse champion Stephen Nedoroscik.

Results at this week’s U.S. Championships will factor into the selection process for the 2022 World Championships, taking place from October 26-November 6 in Liverpool, England, which will be the first qualifying event for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The top three men’s and women’s teams at the 2022 World Championships will earn a team quota place for Paris.

NBC Sports’ Terry Gannon will call this week’s event, joined by five-time Olympic medalist Nastia Liukin and two-time Olympic medalist Tim Daggett. Three-time Olympian John Roethlisberger and Zora Stephenson will serve as reporters.

STAMFORD, Conn. – July 28, 2022 – The nation’s top gymnasts meet this week for the 2022 U.S. Classic at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake Valley, Utah. NBC Sports’ live coverage begins this Saturday, July 30, at 2:30 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC, featuring the junior women’s competition.

NBC Sports’ live coverage continues Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC with the senior women’s competition. Coverage concludes this Sunday, July 31, at 3 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC with the Junior and Senior Men. On Saturday, Aug. 6, NBC Sports will present a highlight show of the 2022 U.S. Classic on NBC.

This weekend’s competition is headlined by reigning world all-around silver medalist Leanne Wong in the senior women’s event and Tokyo Olympians Brody Malone, Yul Moldauer, and Shane Wiskus on the men’s side.

Two-time Olympic medalist Laurie Hernandez, who won a gold medal in the team event and a silver medal on balance beam at the 2016 Rio Olympics, will serve as an event analyst for the first time, alongside play-by-play announcer John Roethlisberger. Previously, Hernandez served as a commentator on Tokyo Live on Peacock for the Tokyo Olympics and hosted a show on TikTok during the Beijing Games.

The U.S. Classic serves as the final opportunity for athletes to qualify for the 2022 U.S. Gymnastics Championships that are set to take place in Tampa, Fla., from August 18-21. Highlights of this weekend’s competition include Malone, Moldauer, and Wiskus competing against 2022 NCAA all-around champion Paul Juda (University of Michigan). The men’s event will also feature Stephen Nedoroscik, who won the first-ever pommel horse world title for the U.S. at the 2021 World Championships.

U.S. athletes look to make their mark at 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA to Present Live Event Coverage this Weekend; Additional Coverage on NBC and Peacock this Sunday, Oct. 24 at 1:30 p.m. ET

STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 20, 2021 – U.S. men’s and women’s artistic gymnasts are set to take on the world’s best in Kitakyushu, Japan, October 18-24. The 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, held at Kitakyushu’s General Gymnasium, will kick off with three days of qualifications followed by all-around and individual event finals. A team competition will not be held.

The women’s all-around final will be held Thursday, October 21 at 5:30 a.m. ET followed by the men’s all-around final Friday, October 22 at 5:20 a.m. ET. Individual apparatus finals begin Saturday, October 23 with the women’s uneven bars and vault and men’s floor exercise, pommel horse and still rings, starting at 5 a.m. ET. The women’s balance beam and floor exercise and men’s horizontal bar, parallel bars and vault titles will be awarded on the final day of competition, beginning at 4:30 a.m. ET.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will air the men’s and women’s all-around and event finals live, with same-day delayed coverage of the all-around competitions on NBCSN and additional World Championships coverage set to air October 24 on NBC and stream on Peacock at 1:30 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports’ John Roethlisberger, 2008 Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin and two-time Olympic medalist Tim Daggett will call the action.

The American men will be represented by Tokyo Olympians Brody Malone of Belfast, Tenn./Stanford University, Yul Moldauer of Wellington, Colo./5280 Gymnastics and Alec Yoder of Indianapolis, Ind./Ohio State University and World medalist on vault Donnell Whittenburg of Baltimore, Md./Salto Gymnastics (vault). Moldauer is also a World medalist on floor exercise. Still rings specialist Alex Diab of Glen Ellyn, Ill./University of Illinois and pommel horse specialist Stephen Nedoroscik of Worcester, Mass./Penn State University will also look to make their marks on the world stage.

The U.S. women are led by Tokyo Olympics alternates Kayla DiCello of Boyds, Md./Hill’s Gymnastics and Leanne Wong of Overland Park, Kan./Great American Gymnastics Express. They are joined by eMjae Frazier of Erial, N.J./Parkettes National Gymnastics Center and Konnor McClain of Cross Lanes, W.Va./WOGA Gymnastics. All women’s team members are competing in their first senior World Championships.

Only three gymnasts per country may compete on any apparatus, and a maximum of two may qualify to the individual all-around and event finals. The top-eight eligible gymnasts will advance to each championship final.

The women’s team, which has won gold in the team all-around at the past two Olympic Games, is expected to be led by the most decorated American gymnast in history and four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, who won her record seventh national all-around title earlier this month and has a chance to tie or break the all-time record for gold medals won by a U.S. woman (eight). Others expected to be alongside Biles at the Team Trials include four-time world medalist Jade Carey, who has mathematically secured an individual spot for Tokyo, as well as three-time world medalist at the 2019 World Championships Suni Lee, who placed second behind Biles in the all-around at the 2021 U.S. Gymnastics Championships, and Jordan Chiles, who placed second behind Biles in the all-around at last month’s 2021 U.S. Classic. There are five Olympic spots still available for the U.S. women at Trials – four women will be chosen to compete in the team event at the Tokyo Olympics, and one additional gymnast will be selected to compete as an individual in Tokyo. Those five spots, plus Jade Carey, will comprise the U.S. women’s gymnastics Olympic delegation.

On the men’s side, Team USA is anticipated to be led 2021 U.S. all-around champion Brody Malone. Other favorites to make the four-man Olympic team include two-time Olympian and six-time U.S. all-around champion Sam Mikulak and 2017 U.S. all-around champion Yul Moldauer.  In addition to the four team spots, a fifth gymnast will be named at Trials to compete as an individual in Tokyo.

The series will take fans behind the scenes as Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez, Morgan Hurd, Sunisa Lee, Konnor McClain, and MyKayla Skinner compete for the four coveted Team USA roster spots.

STAMFORD, Conn. – June 3, 2021 – Four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles headlines NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2021 U.S. Gymnastics Championships from Fort Worth, Texas, this Sunday, June 6 at 7 p.m. ET/PT (live ET) on NBC.

At 2 p.m. ET Sunday, NBC presents coverage of the week’s competition, including the men’s senior competition.

Biles, who has won a record six all-around national titles and looks to earn her seventh this weekend, is expected to compete along with three-time medalist at the 2019 World Championships Suni Lee, four-time world medalist Jade Carey, and Jordan Chiles, who placed second behind Biles in the all-around at last month’s 2021 U.S. Classic.

On the men’s side, two-time Olympian Sam Mikulak seeks his seventh U.S. all-around title. Also expected to compete are members of the 2019 U.S. World Championships team Yul Moldauer, who won the 2017 U.S. all-around title, Akash Modi, and Shane Wiskus.

The 2021 U.S. Gymnastics Championships serve as the national championships for junior and senior men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics. The men’s senior national team will be finalized following the U.S. Championships, while the top eight women in the all-around this weekend will automatically qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials later this month.
