STAMFORD, Conn. – August 22, 2023 – Simone Biles and Suni Lee – the last two women’s Olympic all-around champions — headline NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2023 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships from the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., beginning tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock with the first of two days of competition featuring the senior men. With both Biles and Lee competing, it marks the first time ever that two Olympic all-around gold medalists will take part in a U.S. Gymnastics Championship.

This week’s competition is highlighted by Biles, the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic and world championship history. After taking a two-year hiatus from competition after winning two e medals at the Tokyo Olympics, she returned to competitive gymnastics earlier this month at the Core Hydration Classic where she finished first in the all-around and performed her history-making Yurchenko double pike vault.

Lee also made a comeback to elite gymnastics at the Core Hydration Classic after spending two seasons in the collegiate ranks at Auburn University.

Additionally, Tokyo Olympic floor exercise gold medalist Jade Carey, Tokyo Olympic team silver medalist Jordan Chiles, and world medalists Skye Blakely, Kayla DiCello, Shilese Jones, and Leanne Wong are all expected to compete.

On the men’s side, Tokyo Olympians Yul Moldauer and Shane Wiskus, along with Core Hydration Classic men’s all-around champion Asher Hong and 2023 NCAA all-around champion Fred Richard (Michigan), are all expected to take the floor this week.

Results at this week’s U.S. Championships will factor into the selection process for the 2023 World Championships, taking place from September 30-October 8 in Antwerp, Belgium. Programming details will be announced at a later date. A live multi-view stream, showing all apparatuses in use, will also be available on Peacock for each of the four competition sessions this week^.

Terry Gannon will serve as play-by-play alongside three-time U.S. Olympic gymnast John Roethlisberger, 2008 Beijing Olympic team silver medalist Samantha Peszek, and two-time 1984 Los Angeles Olympic medalist Tim Daggett.

Championships Through 2024

STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 3, 2023 – Seven-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles is set to make her return to gymnastics during NBC Sports’ live coverage of the Core Hydration Gymnastics Classic from the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., this Saturday, August 5, at 2 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC, with the second session of the day beginning in primetime at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC.

This will be four-time Olympic gold medalist Biles’ first competition since the Tokyo Olympics. Biles (2016 Olympics singular all-around champion) will be joined by fellow Olympic all-around gold medalist Suni Lee (Tokyo Olympics).

In Tokyo, Biles earned two Olympic medals (silver in team, bronze in balance beam), after a historic 2016 Rio Olympic performance that saw her win four gold medals and one bronze. Biles’ seven Olympic medals ties her with Shannon Miller for the most Olympic medals won by an American gymnast, while her 25 World Championship medals and 19 world titles are both all-time records.

This weekend’s competition is also expected to feature three-time Tokyo Olympic medalist and all-around champion Lee, Tokyo Olympic floor exercise gold medalist Jade Carey, Tokyo Olympic team silver medalist Jordan Chiles, three-time World Championship medalist Leanne Wong, and 2021 world all-around bronze medalist and Paris Olympic hopeful Kayla DiCello.

Terry Gannon will serve as play-by-play alongside three-time U.S. Olympic gymnast John Roethlisberger and 2008 Beijing Olympic team silver medalist Samantha Peszek. Zora Stephenson will serve as reporter.

The Core Hydration Gymnastics Classic serves as the final opportunity for athletes to qualify for the 2023 U.S. Gymnastics Championships that are set to take place in San Jose, Calif., from August 24-27. STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 23, 2023 – NBC Sports presents live gymnastics coverage of the 2023 Winter Cup from Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky., beginning Saturday at 1 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. This is the first event of the 2023 premier event season.

The women’s field is headlined by 2022 world team gold medalist and 2024 Paris Olympic hopeful Skye Blakely. Joining Blakely in competition are fellow Senior National Team members Addison Fatta, Katelyn Jong, Lexi Zeiss and Levi Jung-Ruivivar. Fifteen-year-old Tiana Sumanasekera, who won four gold medals at the 2022 Junior Pan American Championships, is expected to make her senior competitive debut.

The Winter Cup serves as a qualifying event to the 2023 U.S. Gymnastics Championships in San Jose, California. Performances this weekend will also help determine men’s and women’s international assignments for winter and spring events, including the 2023 World Junior Championships in Antalya, Turkey, DTB Pokal Team Challenge and Mixed Cup in Stuttgart, Germany, and City of Jesolo Trophy in Jesolo, Italy.

NBC Sports’ Terry Gannon will call the event, joined by 2008 Beijing Olympic team silver medalist Sam Peszek. Three-time U.S. Olympic gymnast John Roethlisberger will serve as reporter.

Peacock will exclusively present live coverage of all finals throughout the week, concluding with the live apparatus finals on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 8:15 a.m. ET. NBC will present an encore presentation of highlights from the event on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Noon ET.

The U.S. women’s team is led by Carey, the Tokyo Olympics floor exercise gold medalist, and Chiles, who won a silver medal in the Tokyo team event and finished third in the all-around at the 2022 U.S. Championships. The U.S. team also features Paris Olympic hopeful Shilese Jones, who along with Carey qualified in the top three for the women’s all-around final this week.

On the international side, 2021 world vault champion and Tokyo Olympic vault champion Rebeca Andrade (Brazil), Tokyo Olympic beam silver medalist Tang Xijing (China), and Great Britain’s Jessica Gadirova and Alice Kinsella, both team bronze medalists at the Tokyo Olympics, are all expected to compete.

Tokyo Olympian and 10-time NCAA champion Malone highlights the U.S men’s team. Malone, the 2021 and 2022 all-around U.S. champion, will be up against a competitive international field that includes two-time Olympic gold medalist Daiki Hashimoto (Japan) and defending world all-around champion Zhang Boheng (China). 2021 Pommel Horse world champion Stephen Nedoroscik is also expected to compete for the Americans.

The top three nations in Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s team finals will automatically qualify for team spots in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

STAMFORD, Conn. – July 28, 2022 – The nation’s top gymnasts meet this week for the 2022 U.S. Classic at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake Valley, Utah. NBC Sports’ live coverage begins this Saturday, July 30, at 2:30 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC, featuring the junior women’s competition.

NBC Sports’ live coverage continues Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC with the senior women’s competition. Coverage concludes this Sunday, July 31, at 3 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC with the Junior and Senior Men. On Saturday, Aug. 6, NBC Sports will present a highlight show of the 2022 U.S. Classic on NBC.

ESPN continues to provide expansive coverage of Southeastern Conference gymnastics with nearly 40 hours of action airing across ESPN networks in 2022. ABC, ESPN2, ESPNU and SEC Network will televise 24 live meets featuring SEC teams throughout the regular season, and SEC Network’s “Friday Night Heights” franchise returns with eight consecutive weekends of high-flying action from around the conference beginning on Friday, Jan. 7.
