STAMFORD, Conn. – April 14, 2022 – NBC Sports presents live coverage of the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 18 at 8:30 a.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock, and live coverage of the U.S. Track & Field Golden Games at Mt. SAC this Saturday, April 16 at 5 p.m. ET on CNBC.

MONDAY, APR. 18 – BOSTON MARATHON:

The 2022 Boston Marathon field, which marks the 50th anniversary of the first official women’s race in 1972, is expected to be highlighted by Tokyo Olympic marathon gold medalist Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya, who is making her Boston Marathon debut, and Tokyo Olympic Bronze Medalist Molly Seidel of the United States. The women’s field is also expected to feature former winners American Des Linden (2018) and Edna Kiplagat (2017) of Kenya, as well as Kenyan Joyciline Jepkosgei.

The men’s field is expected to be headlined by seven of the past eight Boston Marathon winners, including reigning champion Benson Kipruto of Kenya, Kenya’s Lawrence Cherono (2019), Japan’s Yuki Kawauchi (2018), Kenya’s Geoffrey Kirui (2017), and Ethiopia’s Lemi Berhanu (2016) and Lelisa Desisa (2015 and 2013). Americans in the men’s field are expected to include Colin Bennie, who finished seventh in last year’s Boston Marathon, Tokyo Olympian Jake Riley, Rio Olympian Jared Ward and Scott Fauble.

Leading up to Monday’s Boston Marathon, Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick shares the story of the late Johnny A. Kelley, a two-time Boston Marathon winner who became one of the city’s most celebrated sports figures over the course of a prolific career in which he ran the race 61 times from 1928 to 1992. The Boston Athletic Association will honor the original eight finishers from the first official women’s field in 1972 with the running of an honorary team on Monday, comprised of eight women who have made a powerful impact in areas from athletics to human rights.

Also at 9 a.m. ET, Peacock will present ‘The Boston Marathon Mosaic,’ featuring complete live coverage of the men’s and women’s wheelchair and professional races.

USATF GOLDEN GAMES AT MT. SAC:

NBC Sports’ live coverage of the USATF Golden Games at Mt. SAC from Walnut, Cal., begins this Saturday, April 16 at 5 p.m. ET on CNBC.

Four U.S. sprinters are expected to highlight the field as they face off in the 200m on Saturday: Reigning 100m world champion Christian Coleman, the world’s fastest man in the 100m in the last World Championship cycle, Tokyo Olympic 100m silver medalist Fred Kerley, Tokyo Olympic 400m hurdles silver medalist Rai Benjamin, and Tokyo Olympic 4x400m relay gold medalist Michael Norman.

The women’s 100m on Saturday is expected to include Olympians Teahna Daniels and Javianne Oliver, while Olympic 200m bronze medalist Gabby Thomas will feature in the 200m alongside Olympic teammate Jenna Prandini. Dalilah Muhammad, an Olympic gold and silver medalist in the 400m hurdles, is expected to run the flat 400m against a field including 2017 World champion Phyllis Francis.

NBC Sports’ Paul Swangard calls the action alongside analysts four-time Olympic medalist Ato Boldon and four-time Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross.

Throughout the Week, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA Presents Encores of Berlin, Chicago, London, and Tokyo Marathons Dating Back to 2016

 STAMFORD, Conn. – April 17, 2020 – With the 2020 Boston Marathon, originally scheduled for this Monday, April 20, postponed until Sept. 14, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents a “Marathon marathon” in its place. The 20-hour Boston Marathon stunt will kick off Marathon Week on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.

Beginning Monday at 6 a.m. ET, each of the last six Boston Marathons will be featured, with the 2014 and 2015 events televised twice. The Boston Marathon, the world’s oldest annual marathon started in 1897, traditionally runs through several cities and towns in the greater Boston area on the third Monday each April.

The 2014 Boston Marathon features Meb Keflezighi becoming the first American man to win the Boston Marathon since 1983 and a record-breaking performance by Buzunesh Deba of Ethiopia, who set a women’s course record with a time of 2:19:59.

The 2017 Boston Marathon features a thrilling finish as American Galen Rupp places second, finishing 21 seconds behind winner Geoffrey Kirui of Kenya.  In 2018, Des Linden becomes the first American woman to win the Boston Marathon since 1985.

STAMFORD, Conn. – April 11, 2019 – NBC Sports presents live coverage of the 123rd annual Boston Marathon this Monday, April 15, at 8:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN, as Desiree Linden aims to become the first American in nearly four decades to win back-to-back Boston Marathons (Bill Rodgers, 1978-80). Coverage will be streamed live on NBC Sports Gold’s “Track and Field Pass” commercial-free.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will kick off the weekend with encore presentations of the 2014-2018 Boston Marathons beginning this Saturday, April 13, at 8 p.m. ET, and will present the Boston Marathon Preview Show on Sunday, April 14, at 4 p.m. ET.

The Boston Marathon Preview Show features NASCAR star Jimmie Johnson, as he joins Steve Letarte in Richmond, VA ahead of his NASCAR race Saturday night to discuss why he’s running the Boston Marathon and the parallels between the two sports. On Monday’s NBCSN coverage, Johnson will join reporter Trenni Kusnierek in the start town of Hopkinton ahead of his debut in the race. Fans can watch Johnson’s finish with NBC Sports’ finish-line camera feed that will be streamed all day at NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app. 2014 Boston Marathon champion Meb Keflezighi will also appear as a guest on Sunday’s preview show on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.

Held annually on Patriots’ Day, the Boston Marathon is the oldest (since 1897) and one of the most prestigious marathons in the world. Running from Hopkinton and weaving through Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, and Brookline, 30,000 runners aim to finish in downtown Boston.

The elite field is headlined by nine Boston Marathon champions, including Linden, who last year became the first U.S. woman to win the Boston Marathon since 1985. She leads a deep field of Americans that are expected to contend for the podium, including Jordan Hasay, who finished 3rd in her first Boston Marathon in 2017 and Sara Hall, who makes her Boston Marathon debut.

Headlining the U.S. team in the wheelchair field is five-time winner and defending champion Tatyana McFadden and Daniel Romanchuk, who won the 2018 TCS New York City and Bank of America Chicago Marathons.

Paul Swangard calls the action on NBCSN, joined by analysts Craig Masback, Carrie Tollefson, and reporter Trenni Kusnierek.

Swangard will also host the Boston Marathon Preview Show, joined by Masback, Tollefson, and Kusnierek.

Live marathon coverage continues with the London Marathon on Sunday, April 28, at 4 a.m. ET on NBCSN. Live, commercial-free coverage of the London Marathon and the Hamburg Marathon will also be streamed with a subscription to NBC Sports Gold’s “Track and Field Pass.”
