STAMFORD, Conn. – March 8, 2021 – Coverage of the most prestigious sailing competition in the world, the America’s Cup, begins tomorrow from Auckland, New Zealand, live across NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold. The 36th edition features Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand, taking on Challenger, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team, vying for the oldest trophy in international sport. The 36th America’s Cup, presented by Prada, is a best-of-13/first to seven points event.

Emirates Team New Zealand acts as Defender after defeating Oracle Team USA in the 2017 America’s Cup. Italian Challenger Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team advanced to the America’s Cup after defeating INEOS Team UK in the Prada Cup challenger series last month.
