The NFL opens the regular season on Thursday, Sept. 8, with NFL Kickoff 2016 on NBC, with a Super Bowl 50 rematch, as the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos host the Carolina Panthers. Coverage begins on NBC at 7:30 p.m. ET. Then, on Sunday, Sept. 11, the New England Patriots visit the Arizona Cardinals in the opening Sunday Night Football game of the season.
