Two-Part No Huddle: Favre & Sanders Airs Wednesday, July 18 & Thursday, July 19 at 8:00 PM ET on NFL Network
Former Hall of Fame cornerback and current NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders sits down for an in-depth conversation with former All-Pro quarterback Brett Favre on No Huddle: Favre & Sanders, a two-part series that airs Wednesday, July 18 and Thursday, July 19 at 8:00 PM ET on NFL Network.
Sanders and Favre touch upon a wide variety of topics in each 30-minute episode. Among the topics of discussion are:
- His 20-year NFL career and his current relationship with the Green Bay Packers
- Former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Holmgren
- Being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons and playing with Deion Sanders
- His two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings
Below are quotes from No Huddle: Favre & Sanders:
– “Holmgren, he was so instrumental. Everyone knows the West Coast [offense], or a version of it now; it was just kind of new, it was just Joe Montana and Bill Walsh back then. The offense just fit me perfectly and he was the best guy to lead me.” – Brett Favre on former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Holmgren
– “When I got to Green Bay, [there was] a lot of tradition but a long time since they had won. A lot of people were, ‘We need to win, it’s been 25 years.’ [Mike] Holmgren, he had gotten there a month before I did so we were all kind of just starting over…I just knew if they ever put me on the field, then that’s going to be a good move.” – Favre on being traded to the Green Bay Packers
“32 Teams in 32 Days” Examines the New England Patriots TONIGHT on NFL Total Access at 7:00 PM ET; Interview with Chargers QB Philip Rivers Wednesday, July 18
This week, NFL Network’s “32 Teams in 32 Days” series on NFL Total Access concludes. Tonight at 7:00 PM ET, NFL Network analysts Jamie Dukes and Daryl Johnston examine the AFC champion New England Patriots.
On Wednesday, San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers joins NFL Total Access to discuss last year’s 8-8 campaign, the upcoming season and quarterback Peyton Manning joining the AFC West as a member of the Denver Broncos.
On Monday, New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes appeared in-studio to discuss the team’s two quarterbacks, Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, as well as being a leader among the wide receiving corps.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-
– “No. I don’t think so because you have to allow one quarterback to get into the rhythm of a game and it starts from the preparation in practice. [It is] knowing the first couple of plays that he’s going to take these reps, it’s getting the feel for coming onto the field with the crowd awaiting you, it’s making the mistakes early in the game to finishing the games at the end. You don’t just change a guy out just because he has a few mistakes early into a game. Coming into this season, we have a lot to expect from [Mark] Sanchez.” – Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes on if a two-quarterback system can work in the NFL
– “[Tim] Tebow is going to have plays where he comes in and plays. Whether he plays at quarterback, [Mark] Sanchez is on the field or off the field, those are the plays that coach has designed for Tebow to be ran that week. I’m pretty sure he’s going to get them done and he’s going to do his job just as well as any other quarterback would when they get an opportunity to get on the field.” – Holmes on the plays that quarterback Tim Tebow will run
