Live race broadcast will air Saturday on satellite radios and on the SiriusXM App
Listeners will hear Kentucky Derby winner American Pharoah take the next step toward racing’s Triple Crown.
NEW YORK – May 14, 2015 – SiriusXM will offer listeners nationwide a live broadcast of the Preakness Stakes from Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD, this Saturday, May 16, as Kentucky Derby winner American Pharoah will attempt to capture the second jewel of thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown. It is the second of three Triple Crown races, including the Belmont Stakes on June 6, heard via NBC Sports Radio, who will present two hours of live coverage from 5:00 – 7:00 pm ET, produced in partnership with Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), and Westwood One.
SiriusXM listeners will hear the live broadcast of the event (post time approximately 6:18 pm ET) on SiriusXM Sports Zone, channel 92 on satellite radios, on the SiriusXM app and online at SiriusXM.com. HRRN’s Mike Penna will anchor the coverage along with analysts Jude Feld and Jeff Bloom, with Sean Clancy providing paddock commentary and interviews. NBC Sports Network’s race caller Larry Collmus will provide the live Preakness call.
Leading up to the race, SiriusXM’s horse racing talk shows will provide listeners with daily news and analysis.
At The Races with Steve Byk airs every weekday from 6:00 – 10:00 am ET featuring daily interviews with handicapping experts and trainers and an in-depth look at the field. (Sirius channel 220, XM channel 206 and channel 964 on the SiriusXM app.)
On Saturday, HRRN’s Equine Forum show airs live from Pimlico from 8:00 – 10:00 am ET with live interviews and insight into the Preakness Stakes (SiriusXM Sports Zone, channel 92 on satellite radios and on the SiriusXM app).
It will be followed by a special edition of Down The Stretch, hosted by Dave Johnson and Bill Finley, starting at 10:00 am ET. Johnson, the acclaimed track announcer, and Finley will provide listeners with day-of news and pre-race analysis, and interview jockeys, trainers and owners.
SiriusXM will broadcast all three races of the Triple Crown in 2015.
