2011 HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY LIVE ON NFL NETWORK ON AUGUST 6
In a ceremony live on NFL Network, Marshall Faulk, Deion Sanders and NFL Films Founder Ed Sabol were among the seven members who will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2011 in August.
“This is the pinnacle for anyone in football and it is a tremendous honor that Deion and Marshall both made it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the first ballot,” said Eric Weinberger, Executive Producer, NFL Network. “We at NFL Network congratulate Deion, Marshall, Ed and everyone in the Hall of Fame class of 2011.”
“For nearly 50 years Big Ed and NFL Films have celebrated the National Football League. Tonight, we’re all proud that the NFL has chosen to celebrate Big Ed,” said Steve Sabol, NFL Films president and Ed’s son.
“The NFL will forever be a part of my life and this unbelievable honor will ensure my place in the history of this America’s favorite sport,” said Faulk. “It’s the perfect motivation to catapult me further into my career as a sports analyst by giving me the confidence and renewed faith to continue doing what I am passionate about.”
“Excited, elated, blessed, thankful and proud for everyone around me and the sacrifices and the concessions that they made so I can be recognized in the moment like now,” said Sanders.
Joining Faulk, Sanders and Sabol who will be inducted during the Hall of Fame Ceremony in August are Richard Dent, Chris Hanburger, Les Richter, Shannon Sharpe. Faulk and Sanders will be joining current NFL Network analysts Michael Irvin and Rod Woodson, who are already members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
As they have all week on Sunday, Faulk and Sanders will help anchor NFL Network’s 8 ½ hour Super Bowl XLV pregame show, NFL GameDay Morning at the Super Bowl beginning at 9:00 AM ET.
