MLB PRODUCTIONS WINS FIVE LOCAL EMMY AWARDS AT THE
52nd ANNUAL NEW YORK EMMY AWARDS
Latest Wins Bring MLB Productions Local Emmy Awards Total to 20 Since 2002
Major League Baseball Productions won five Local Emmy Awards at the 52nd Annual New York Emmy Awards, held last night. Since 2002, MLB Productions has won 20 Local Emmy Awards across the country, including last night’s achievements. MLB Productions was recognized in five groups with three individual selections for a total of eight 2008 New York Emmy Award nominations.
MLB Productions continued its seventh straight year of New York Emmy nominations for its work on the award winning Yankeeography series for The YES Network with eight nominations in multiple categories, including Sports Programming, History/Cultural Programming and Craft (Individual).

Before last night’s wins, MLB Productions had received 13 awards for its YES Network “Yankeeography” and “Yankees Access” programming, one win for the “2005 Houston Astros: The Championship Season” special and one win for the 2007 production of “Champions Again: The Story of the 2007 Boston Red Sox” for NESN.
In total, MLB Productions has been nominated for 54 Local Emmy Awards. This includes 49 nominations in the NY National Academy of Television Arts and Science chapter for YES Network programming, two nominations in the Chicago NATAS chapter for 2005 White Sox World Series programming, one in the Lone Star chapter for 2005 Astros World Series programming and two in the New England chapter for 2004 and 2007 World Series programming.
