This marks the first Game 7 of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs; last year, the road team won six of seven Game 7 matchups. Eight of the Capitals’ 10 playoff series since 2008 have required a Game 7, while the Islanders are playing their first Game 7 since the 2002 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Detroit goaltender Petr Mrazek stopped all 28 shots he faced in Game 5 for his second shutout of the series in the Red Wings’ 4-0 victory in Tampa Bay on Saturday. The Lightning will look to draw upon their strong finish to Game 4 in Detroit, where they scored twice in the final six minutes of regulation and won 3-2 in overtime to stun the Red Wings.
John Forslund (play-by-play) and Andy Brickley (Inside-the-Glass analyst) will have the call from Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich.
