With brackets on the minds of sports fans this month, NFL.com debuts “Bracketology” enabling fans to vote now in bracket fashion for the best NFL team in the Super Bowl era (since 1966).

The 64-team field features:
- No. 1 seeds: ’72 Dolphins, ’78 Steelers, ’85 Bears, and ’89 49ers
- Four clubs with six entries apiece – Dallas, Green Bay, Pittsburgh and San Francisco
- The 1990s tops all decades with 16 teams, ahead of the 1980s (14)
- A season-high three teams from 1998 – Atlanta, Denver, Minnesota
The 18 “at-large” teams and seedings were determined by an NFL.com/NFL Network editorial panel.
Fans can now make their selections for the Round 1 matchups on NFL.com while also commenting and sharing with friends via Facebook. The teams receiving the most votes will advance to the next round. NFL.com offers up-to-the minute results of the voting.
