STAMFORD, Conn. – April 13, 2021 – NBC Sports’ “Push for the Playoffs” begins with an NHL quadrupleheader weekend, headlined by Alex Ovechkin and the East Division co-leading Washington Capitals facing off against David Pastrnak and the Boston Bruins Sunday at Noon on NBC. Sunday’s tripleheader also features the East Division co-leading New York Islanders who play Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The nightcap spotlights Nathan MacKinnon and the league-leading Colorado Avalanche hosting Anze Kopitar and the Los Angeles Kings at 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Sidney Crosby and the streaking Pittsburgh Penguins, winners of eight of their past 10 games, take on Sam Reinhart and the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC.

Wednesday evening will feature a West Division doubleheader on NBCSN, including the pair of teams atop the division standings — the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights. MacKinnon and the Avalanche face Ryan O’Reilly and the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday Night Hockey at 7:30 p.m. ET. The nightcap will be a clash between Mark Stone and the Golden Knights against Kopitar and the Kings at 10 p.m. ET.

Two of the top teams in the Central Division will be in action Thursday on NBCSN, when Victor Hedman and the Tampa Bay Lightning host Aleksander Barkov and the Florida Panthers at 7 p.m. ET.

STAMFORD, Conn. – March 9, 2021 – NBC Sports presents an NHL West Division doubleheader on Wednesday night, featuring a Wednesday Night Hockey clash between Max Pacioretty and the West Division-leading Vegas Golden Knights, who are aiming for a seventh win in their past 10 games, against Zach Parise and the Minnesota Wild at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The nightcap pits Anze Kopitar and the Los Angeles Kings facing Ryan Getzlaf and the Anaheim Ducks in another edition of the ‘Freeway Face-Off’ at 9:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

A Hockey Happy Hour doubleheader tonight on NBCSN gets underway with Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins hosting Chris Kreider and the New York Rangers at 6 p.m. ET. Coverage continues when Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks face Joe Pavelski and the Dallas Stars in a Central Division matchup at 8:30 p.m. ET. The matchup will mark Kane’s 1,000^th career game.

On Sunday night, Gabriel Landeskog and the Colorado Avalanche host Kopitar and the Kings at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NHL linesman and the second-ever Black NHL official Shandor Alphonso joined NHL on NBC analyst Anson Carter for a conversation about his transition from playing to officiating, his experiences as a Black official in the NHL and the impact that role models have had on his career, on the latest episode of NBC Sports’ Hockey Culture.

Alphonso on his advice to youth hockey players who experience racism: “As a kid, I would say do your best to let your love of the game go ahead of what someone is saying to you and don’t let anyone turn you away from what you love.”

Alphonso on the trailblazers that have paved a path for many in the sport of hockey: “There are so many great role models that kids have coming up that we didn’t necessarily have when we were younger…this generation of kids coming up is so blessed to have these people to look up to and see what they’re doing and to be able to have the confidence to chase their dreams.”

STAMFORD, Conn. – March 8, 2021 – NBC Sports will present live coverage of the National Women’s Hockey League Isobel Cup Semifinals and Final on March 26-27 on NBCSN from Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton, Mass.

The Isobel Cup Playoffs, previously scheduled in February, return with enhanced health and safety protocols and enforcement, after a short hiatus due to COVID-19 cases.

The single-elimination Isobel Cup Semifinals will be shown live on NBCSN beginning Friday, March 26 at 5 p.m. ET, when the top-seeded Toronto Six face the Boston Pride, followed by the second semifinal matchup between the Minnesota Whitecaps and Connecticut Whale. The winners will face off in the Isobel Cup Final on Saturday, March 27 at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

In addition to live coverage on NBCSN, live coverage will stream exclusively on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

“Giving our athletes the platform to finish what they started in a safe environment, to make history, is what matters most,” said NWHL Commissioner Tyler Tumminia. “It means a great deal to our athletes to have the opportunity to compete to lift the Isobel Cup. Hockey fans will be inspired by the skill and dedication of our athletes, but we’re all especially excited about the message this sends to the young girls and boys who will be watching.”

The Isobel Cup Playoffs will be played with no fans in attendance at Warrior Ice Arena, which is home of the Boston Bruins training facility and home ice for the NWHL’s Boston Pride. There will be strict health protocols in place, all guided by state health authorities and NWHL medical advisors, and daily COVID-19 testing administered for all players and staff.

As part of NBC Sports’ exclusive coverage, On Her Turf – NBC Sports’ Female Empowerment brand – will be integrated into Isobel Cup Semifinal and Final coverage on NBCSN as well as across content on NBC Sports’ social and digital channels leading up to and during the games.

On the anniversary weekend of NBC Sports’ presentation of the first-ever all-women NHL broadcast and just two days prior to International Women’s Day (March 8), the 2021 Secret® Dream Gap Tour showcase will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET from United Center in Chicago, Ill. on NBCSN. Kendall Coyne Schofield – a two-time Olympic medalist and PWHPA player and board member who was also a member of last year’s NBCSN broadcast team – will play in the Chicago showcase.

NBCSN presents a doubleheader on Wednesday night, beginning with Wednesday Night Hockey between East Division leaders when Pastrnak and the Bruins host Zdeno Chara in his return to Boston and the Washington Capitals at 7 p.m. ET. Fuhr on his time as a member of the Edmonton Oilers: “Nobody really realized how good we were going to be, we just went out and had fun every day. Fuhr on the work being done on increasing diversity and inclusion in the sport of hockey: “I think there is still a lot more that we can do to get the game out in front of kids, minorities, the less fortunate, and I think the NHL plays a big part in that where we’ve got to expand the program to expose the game to kids because that’s how the game is going to grow.”
