Bleacher Report, a leading digital destination for team-specific sports content and real-time event coverage, has unveiled a new home page and Team Stream app geared towards the U.K. sports fan. For those visiting Bleacher Report from the U.K., the site will now display a home page featuring World Football, Cricket, Rugby, Formula 1 and other sports craved by fans in the home country. For fans interested in sport categories such as the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB, there will be a link at the top of the home page directing them to the site highlighting those genres.
Team Stream, the popular top-rated tablet and smartphone app, has also launched a new version for its U.K. fan base. Consistent with enhancements to the Bleacher Report home page, the app – currently available in the App Store and via Google Play – will more prominently showcase real-time streams capturing the latest information touching sports such as World Football, Cricket, Rugby, Formula 1, etc., along with access to each of the sports categories previously highlighted (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, etc.).
“Bleacher Report strives to provide sports fans with unparalleled access to their favorite teams and topics,” said Brian Grey, CEO of Bleacher Report and SVP, Turner Sports. “With these enhancements and expanded focus in the U.K., we are able to serve a very passionate fan base with comprehensive, relevant and timely sports content associated with the categories they most desire, both online and through the Team Stream app.”
To best support the new enhancements of the site and app in the U.K., along with the enriched content offerings, Bleacher Report has also expanded its editorial team to include a full-time, London-based staff. Lee Walker, former managing editor of Eurosport, will serve as managing editor of Bleacher Report in the U.K. Walker will directly report to Dave Finocchio, co-founder and chief content and product offer of Bleacher Report and vice president, Turner Sports.
The editorial team will also consist of Alex Livie, World Football assignment editor; Alex Dimond, World Football lead writer; and Mark Patterson, Cricket assignment editor. Additionally, Bleacher Report will utilize five full-time World Football writers, 45 World Football contributors, five Cricket contributors and a Formula 1 lead writer in support of its content offerings.
