GolfNow, a Division of Golf Channel, Only Technology Company Recognized in Category of Largest Companies
ORLANDO, Fla. (June 30, 2016) – Orlando-based GolfNow, a Golf Channel technology company specializing in golf-related products and services with the largest tee-time marketplace in golf, recently was recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal, honoring the Orlando-area’s leading employers. This recognition comes shortly after GolfNow’s office in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in May was presented with the “Best Company to Work for Award” at the Belfast Business Awards, honoring the city’s best-in-class companies.
GolfNow was featured by OBJ as the only technology company recognized among those included in the category employing more than 250 people. Among 72 companies in Central Florida recognized, GolfNow ranked an impressive 3rd overall in its category.
Companies that were recognized scored high via employee surveys that rated them highest on values, such as collaboration, compensation and management practices. Other criteria included trust in leadership and other employees, and job satisfaction.
“We’re extremely proud of this recognition, which is a testament to the culture of passionate people who work for all Golf Channel companies, whether at Golf Channel’s world headquarters campus in Orlando or the hundreds of employees in other locations around the world,” said Julie Lusk, vice president, Golf Channel human resources. “The start-up spirit at GolfNow remains true to the vision our co-founders Arnold Palmer and Joe Gibbs had when launching Golf Channel as the first single-sport network in 1995.”
Founded in 2001 and currently employing more than 500 people, GolfNow offers more than 3.5 million registered golfers more ways to stay connected to their favorite courses and the ability to easily book tee times online and via mobile devices. GolfNow also provides technology, support and marketing services to more than 9,000 golf courses around the world, and is part of the suite of digital businesses managed by Golf Channel, which is seen in more than 200 million homes worldwide.
