ROSENTHAL: LEE TRADE TO PHILADELPHIA A COUP FOR BOTH PHILS & INDIANS – Earlier today, the Philadelphia Phillies traded four high level prospects to Cleveland for Indian’s ace Cliff Lee and OF Ben Francisco. FOXSports.com senior writer & MLB on FOX insider, Ken Rosenthal thinks the deal is a plus for both organizations. “The Phillies would get Lee without giving up any of the three players the Blue Jays initially wanted for Roy Halladay. Francisco would fill the Phillies’ longstanding need for a right-handed hitter off the bench. The Indians, meanwhile, would get four of the Phillies’ top 10 prospects according to Baseball America’s pre-season rankings. Carlos Carrasco was rated second, Lou Marson third, Jason Donald fourth and Jason Knapp 10th.”

ROSENTHAL: METS’ ISSUES MORE THAN A REPORTER – On Tuesday afternoon, things went from bad to embarrassing for the New York Mets. During a press conference to announce the firing of VP for player development Tony Bernazard, GM Omar Minaya said that New York Daily News beat reporter Adam Rubin had “lobbied” for a job with the Mets. FOXSports.com senior writer & MLB on FOX insider, Ken Rosenthal thinks the Mets should be pointing the finger at themselves. “Minaya is the issue. The Wilpons are the issue. The Mets are the issue, for crying out loud, and no amount of finger-pointing is going to change that fact. Injuries, the Mets keep talking about their injuries. At this point, those injuries are just a convenient excuse. Even when healthy, this team is a dysfunctional mess, from the top down.”
