OTA JOINS ESPN AS
DIRECTOR, DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS
Kevin Ota has joined ESPN as director, digital communications. Ota will be responsible for media relations pertaining to ESPN’s digital products including ESPN.com, mobile, ESPN3.com, digital audio, fantasy, gaming and more. He is based at ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, Conn., and reports to Katina Arnold, vice president, communications.
Ota has served in numerous capacities at top PR agencies on the east and west coasts, while developing and executing highly-successful digital and traditional communications campaigns across corporate, technology and consumer markets. At Blanc & Otus in Mountain View, Calif., Ota led teams that launched some of Silicon Valley’s most successful start-up companies including TiVo, Hotwire, Ofoto, and Magellan GPS, while also introducing consumer products for established brands like Motorola and Xerox. Most recently, Ota led the Dell Consumer and Nike Corporate account teams at GCI Group in New York.
“Kevin has worked on a number of digital product offerings throughout his PR career, and he understands the new rules of digital communications,” said Arnold. “He has in-depth industry knowledge, excellent communication skills and rapport with people, and he’s an avid sports fan.”
Ota earned a B.A. degree in journalism from the University of Southern California.
