NBA TV TO FEATURE LIVE GAME BROADCASTS OF 2010 NBA D-LEAGUE SHOWCASE
NBA TV, the league’s 24 hour network, will feature seven live game broadcasts of the 2010 NBA Development League Showcase which tips off on Monday, Jan. 4 and runs through Thursday, Jan. 7.
The live games on NBA TV will be the first high-definition (HD) sports broadcast utilizing a Newtek TriCaster™ HD portable live production system. Cost-efficient, lightweight, and easy to operate, NewTek TriCaster is currently used by NBA D-League teams to deliver live video webcasts of every game throughout the season via NBA Futurecast on NBA.com/futurecast.
All NBA D-League Showcase games not featured on NBA TV will be available for fans to view for free on NBA.com/futurecast.
The sixth annual NBA D-League Showcase will take place at Boise’s Qwest Arena, home of the Idaho Stampede, in Boise, Idaho, and will include all 16 NBA D-League teams each playing 2 games. The event provides exposure for NBA D-League players and coaches to general managers, player personnel executives, and scouts from each of the 30 NBA teams at one convenient location.

NBA TV’s coverage of the NBA D-League Showcase will include interviews with NBA general managers and scouts. Additionally, NBA.com’s Art Garcia will be at The Showcase providing fans with online access to breaking news, player profiles and other features stories. Leading up to, and continuing throughout the event, NBA.com/dleague will offer extensive coverage including video highlights, game recaps, and photo galleries.
