NBA Regular Season Coverage Concludes on NBA TV

NBA veteran Penny Hardaway joins NBA TV studio on Mon., April 13

NBA TV sprints to the end of the regular season with live NBA games on three consecutive nights.  Beginning on Sat., April 11, the network will air the Detroit Pistons @ Indiana Pacers at 7 p.m. ET, followed on Sun., April 12 with the Philadelphia 76ers @ Toronto Raptors at 6 p.m. ET.  On Mon., April 14, four-time NBA All-Star Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway joins NBA TV’s AutoTrader.com Pregame Show at 7 p.m. ET joining host Andre Aldridge and analyst Eric Snow for analysis and commentary. At 7:30 p.m. ET, two teams from the East battle for playoff position as the Detroit Pistons host the Chicago Bulls.

NBA TV will shift its focus to the 2009 NBA Playoffs on Thurs., April 16 with two one-hour specials to preview the Eastern and Western Conferences.  Host Rick Kamla and analysts Steve Smith and Snow will break down the match-ups, analyze the teams and give their predictions on the highly anticipated postseason.  The Eastern Conference Preview Show will air at 7 p.m. ET, followed by the Western Conference Preview Show at 8 p.m. ET. Additional NBA Playoffs programming on NBA TV will be announced at a later date.

NBA TV’s weekly programming will include:

    • Fan Night (Tues. April 14): The Beat will conclude its debut season with a special one-hour episode featuring host Marc Fein, TNT Insider David Aldridge and TNT analyst Kenny Smith to cover hot topics and NBA news.
    • Sister-network TNT will air its final regular season doubleheader on Tues., April 14 at 8 p.m. ET with the Boston Celtics @ Philadelphia 76ers followed by the Utah Jazz @ L.A. Lakers.

· Premiere Night (Wed., April 15):  At 7 p.m. ET, Premiere Night will feature Real NBA: Playoff Preview which takes an all-access look at the compelling storylines of the postseason.  Out West, no one is hungrier for an NBA Championship than Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, but they’ll have to compete with the title-tested San Antonio Spurs, the recharged Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets, and the young and talented Portland Trail Blazers.  In the East, can anyone stop LeBron James and the red-hot Cavaliers?  Do the Celtics have enough in the tank to repeat?  And how about Dwight Howard and the Magic, as well as the Atlanta Hawks, who picked up confidence after extending the Celtics to seven games last year.  The show concludes with a look at the revived Miami Heat and Dwyane Wade‘s touching visit with Michael Stolzenberg, an 8 year-old South Florida resident who suffered a bacterial infection leading to the amputation of both of his hands and feet.

    • At 7:30pm ET, the NBA’s Top Moments of the Season will recap all the best moments of the year.  From the Celtics’ early-season winning streak to Kobe and LeBron’s Madison Square Garden masterpieces to Dwyane Wade’s own personal March Madness – it’s all there, with highlights, insight and unprecedented access.  The show is also packed with the season’s best buzzer beaters and notable milestones, including Suns center Shaquille O’Neal‘s run up the scoring list, Mavericks guard Jason Kidd‘s growing assists collection and the best moments from NBA All-Star 2009.

· Legends Night (Thurs., April 16):  Thursday night will feature re-airs of the Eastern and Western Conference Preview Shows in anticipation of the 2009 NBA Playoffs.
