‘MIRACLE ON ICE’ TEAM MEMBER AND FOUR-TIME STANLEY CUP CHAMPION KEN MORROW

NEW YORK (February 11, 2010) – Ken Morrow, member of the famed Miracle on Ice team at the 1980 Olympic Games, four-time Stanley Cup Champion and current-day scout with the NHL’s New York Islanders, is today’s guest on NHL Hour With Commissioner Gary Bettman on NHL.com and SIRIUS XM Radio at 6 p.m. ET.
With the 30-year anniversary of Team USA’s Miracle on Ice fast approaching (February 22) and the sporting world preparing for the 2010 Winter Games spectacle, US Hockey Hall of Famer Ken Morrow will join Commissioner Bettman to talk about all things hockey including Team USA’s chances for gold in Vancouver and his memories of the winning the historic medal-round game against the Russians en route to gold in Lake Placid.
Morrow, who was forced to retire early from the NHL due to knee problems, became the first player to win an Olympic Gold Medal and a Stanley Cup in the same year.
NHL Hour with Commissioner Gary Bettman now broadcasts live on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET on NHL Home Ice (XM Channel 204 and on SIRIUS Channel 208 as part of the “Best of XM” programming package) and NHL.com.
