Strahan on Cowboys: They Are Dangerous If They Can Stay Focused and Make the Playoffs

Glazer Reports Garrett Safe in Dallas After Leading Team Through Car Accident Tragedy

Analyst Michael Strahan on the factors involved in the Cowboys’ recent winning streak: “Tony Romo has had a lot of late game success the last few weeks and he deserves all the credit for that but one of the biggest differences for the Cowboys is the return of DeMarco Murray. Now you have to respect the Cowboys running game which opens up a lot of things for Romo. They are peaking at the right time. Winning these last minute games gives them a lot of confidence. They are dangerous if they can stay focused and make the playoffs because they are so unpredictable.”

Analyst Howie Long believes starting Robert Griffin III against the Eagles this week isn’t worth the risk: “If Robert Griffin III isn’t near 100% with little or no limitation on that knee, I’d have a stationary bike set up right next to Mike Shanahan with a little glass box that says “break glass in case of emergency”. That’s the only way I’d put Griffin in the game today. I would have him healthy and for that home game versus Dallas to wrap up the season. Today’s game is winnable without him.

Analyst Jimmy Johnson on which team will emerge from the NFL East: “The Giants are the most talented team on the field, but there’s no hunger there. It happens to team that have had success, especially defending champions. They get complacent. The hungriest team in the NFC East is the Washington Redskins and that’s why I pick them to win the division next week at home.”

On the 40th anniversary of the controversial play, co-host Terry Bradshaw reflects on his part in “The Immaculate Reception: “It’s a pleasure to have been a part of a play that caused so much controversy for 40 years, a play that I didn’t even see.”

FOX NFL SUNDAY insider Jay Glazer reports that head coach Jason Garrett has the backing of the Cowboys’ front office and will return next season: “Take his name off the hot seat. Jason Garrett is safe. It’s not so much the fact that they’ve won lately but also how he really helped the Cowboys during through their tragedy the last few weeks. The light that he’s helped provided in such a dark time means he will be back.”

—————————————————————————————————

Analyst Jimmy Johnson on how he thinks the Jets’ QB controversy will shake out next season: “Sanchez will stay in New York. Tebow will be out of the league entirely.”

—————————————————————————————————

Analyst Michael Strahan on Houston’s JJ Watt & San Francisco’s Aldon Smith closing in his single season sack record: “It’s amazing to watch the plays that JJ Watt makes and if Aldon Smith breaks the sack record, he could do it again. He has so much potential that untapped. When I broke the sack record, it was a miserable season, we were losing. Their teams are winning as a direct result of their sacks. Good luck to both and whoever breaks it should enjoy it because it’s well deserved and hard earned.”

—————————————————————————————————

Analyst Jimmy Johnson isn’t convinced the Cowboys can continue their winning ways:  “Tony Romo has the Cowboys scoring in the fourth quarter. They are finishing better than any team in the league but in this league the only finish that matters is the one for the ring. The jury is still out on them.”
