ROSENTHAL ON DODGERS/DIAMONDBACKS BRAWL: WHEN DOES THE STUPIDITY STOP? –
“I just want to know, when does the stupidity stop?” asked MLB on FOX reporter and FOXSports.com senior MLB columnist Ken Rosenthal. Rosenthal was referring to last night’s bench clearing brawl between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks which saw six ejections and suspensions likely handed down from the Commissioner’s office at Major League Baseball. “Don’t ask me who was right in the wild bench-clearing brawl between the Dodgers and Diamondbacks on Tuesday night. Pretty much everyone was wrong, and not just a little wrong, either,” wrote Rosenthal. The MLB writer understands baseball’s unwritten code of retaliation but points out the scenarios in which those intentional inside pitches were thrown. “Does anyone even pay attention to the score anymore? Diamondbacks right-hander Ian Kennedy hit the Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig with two strikes and two outs in the sixth, bringing the tying run to the plate. The other two drillings – Zack Grienke of D-backs catcher Miguel Montero, Kennedy of Grienke – occurred with the score tied in the seventh.”
