New York – September 5, 2012 – With the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees currently tied for first place in the American League East, this week’s Caught Looking (Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network) will feature a behind-the-scenes look at this past weekend’s series between the teams.
Major League Baseball Productions embedded camera crews with both teams throughout the three-game series, providing a unique perspective on all the action between the lines as the Orioles took two of three to close the gap with the Yankees after trailing by as many as ten games earlier this season.
In addition to exclusive commentary from star players on both teams, the episode features compelling in-game audio throughout the series, highlighted by a wireless microphone worn by Orioles first base coach Wayne Kirby during Friday’s game. The episode also features in-depth interviews with managers Joe Girardi and Buck Showalter. Off the field, camera crews captured many different moments with the teams and players. A crew travelled with the Orioles on their train ride from Baltimore to New York. Camera crews also spent time with Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy and Orioles third baseman Mark Reynolds, as they took in a day at the US Open. Another crew followed Yankees center fielder Curtis Granderson, as he spent time in the city before Saturday’s game. In addition, cameras followed Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long as he worked with players in batting cage.
Caught Looking, a new collaboration between Major League Baseball Productions and NBC Sports Group will follow two different teams each week, as the final eight weeks of the season unfolds. Each original episode will be one hour in length and will air on NBC Sports Network. Next week’s episode will feature this weekend’s series between the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
On November 8, NBC Sports Network will air a special postseason episode of Caught Looking which will feature the two teams playing in the 2012 World Series.
