MOROSI: SERIES WIN MAY KEEP PUJOLS IN ST. LOUIS – Of the many storylines being written during this World Series, one that surprisingly has seen little coverage is the impending free agency of Cardinals superstar Albert Pujols. FOXSports.com national MLB writer Jon Paul Morosi wonders if the outcome of the series will have any effect on Pujols’ decision. “In the absence of any recent illumination from Prince Albert, baseball players, executives, writers, fans and all others outside the Pujols’ circle are left to ponder one mesmerizing question before the start of this year’s World Series.” Morosi writes. “If the Cardinals beat the Rangers, would it increase the odds that Pujols will stay?”

ANOTHER TRIP TO ENGLAND AND THE NFL’S LONE UNBEATEN HEADLINE NFL ON FOX DOUBLEHEADER – Week 7 of the 2011 NFL on FOX season kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 23 (1:00 PM ET) as FOX Sports presents doubleheader coverage of six games—each presented in true HD. FOX Sports takes a trip across the pond as the NFL stages another regular season game in London as Jay Cutler and the Bears face-off with Josh Freeman and the Bucs. Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston and Tony Siragusa call all the action from Wembley Stadium. Coming off their first loss of the season, Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and the Lions look to rebound as they welcome Matt Ryan and the Falcons to Detroit. In Charlotte, Cam Newton and the Panthers look to notch their second win at home as they host the Redskins. Also, the Seahawks travel to Cleveland to take on Colt McCoy and the Browns. The second half of FOX Sports’ doubleheader kicks off with the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL when Aaron Rodgers and the high-powered Packers take on their divisional rival Minnesota Vikings who give rookie Christian Ponder his first career start at QB. Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman & Pam Oliver call all the action from Mall of America Field in Minneapolis, MN. Also in the late window, Tony Romo and the Cowboys host Sam Bradford and the Rams.
Coverage begins at 12:00 PM ET with America’s most-watched Sunday afternoon pregame show, FOX NFL SUNDAY. Terry Bradshaw and Curt Menefee co-host the Emmy Award-winning program and are joined by analysts Howie Long, Michael Strahan and Jimmy Johnson. NFL Insider Jay Glazer presents the latest league news and scoops from the FOX NFL SUNDAY studio while comedic prognosticator Frank Caliendo contributes his weekly “Frank’s Picks” segment. FOX Sports rules analyst Mike Pereira is also on hand to go over any impactful officiating issues. This week’s edition of “The Journey,” which opens the show, is narrated by pop star and actor Justin Timberlake. Future Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez is interviewed by his 10-year-old son Nikko.

KENNY ALBERT: HARBAUGH/SCHWARTZ COMPLIMENTARY OF EACH OTHER BEFORE ALTERCATION –Prior to last week’s postgame dust-up between Lions head coach Jim Schwartz and 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh separately had very complimentary things to say about one another to NFL on FOX play-by-play broadcaster Kenny Albert during the broadcast team’s production meeting leading up to coverage of the game. “I asked each of them about the other since they were together in 1998 with the Ravens (Schwartz as a 32-year-old defensive assistant, Harbaugh, started 12 games at QB) and they had mutual respect of one another,” said Albert. “Schwartz said that he had ‘no doubt’ Harbaugh would go into coaching. Schwartz continued, ‘he was always picking somebody’s brain. He spent a lot of time with the coaches during practices and asked a lot of questions.’” Meanwhile, Harbaugh was complimentary of coach Schwartz to Albert saying, ‘he was a go-getter for (defensive coordinator) Marvin Lewis. A very hard worker.’”

BATTLE FOR MANCHESTER – FOX SOCCER’S WARREN BARTON: “THE CITY WILL BE BUZZING” – There is no longer a dominant team in Manchester, England, as Manchester United takes on Manchester City at Old Trafford stadium Sunday, October 23 (8:00 AM ET) live on FOX Soccer. The teams sit side-by-side geographically in working-class Manchester, but Sir Alex Ferguson, United’s legendary coach, says City are no longer the “Noisy Neighbors” who rarely threatened to take down his perennial powerhouse club. Now with the Premier League’s richest roster, Manchester City have built one of the most formidable sides in soccer and now sit at the top of the Premier League standings—two points ahead of Manchester United. The jockeying for the top of the table makes this turf war much more than a rivalry, or “derby,” as it’s called in England. According to FOX Soccer’s Warren Barton, it could be a title-decider. Either way, the Manchester Derby may be the most eagerly-anticipated match of the year. Christian Miles, Warren Barton and Kyle Martino host pregame and halftime shows. The match is followed by Goals on Sunday, FOX Soccer’s weekly wrap-up and highlight show.
