NBC Sports Live Extra to Stream All Bouts
STAMFORD, Conn. – September 17, 2015 – World Series of Fighting returns to NBCSN tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 18, live at 10 p.m. ET, highlighted by two world title fights. WSOF lightweight champion Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje (14-0) defends his title against Luis “Baboon” Palomino (23-10). The bout serves as a rematch of March’s WSOF 19, which Gaethje won by third-round TKO for the second official defense of his belt.
The co-main event features David Branch (16-3) vs. Teddy Holder (9-0) for the inaugural WSOF light heavyweight title. After winning WSOF middleweight championship, Branch moved up in weight to compete in the four-man tournament for the light heavyweight title, beating Jesse McElligott via technical submission at April’s WSOF 20. Holder earned a last-minute call into the four-man light heavyweight tournament after Matt Hamill withdrew, and went on to defeat Thiago Silva in a first-round TKO.
Tomorrow’s card also features bouts between Timur “Lucky” Valiev (9-1) and Tito Jones (11-7) in the bantamweight division; Ben “Phoenix Jones” Fodor (5-1-1) and Roberto Yong (2-2) fighting a catchweight of 160 pounds; and Brian Foster (22-7) and LaRue “The Cannibal” Burley (6-0) in the lightweight division.
Play-by-play announcer Todd Harris will be joined by mixed martial artists and analysts Bas Rutten and Joey Varner to call the action from Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Ariz.
