STAMFORD, Conn. – July 21, 2021 – The Tokyo Olympics continue with live coverage of softball tonight, Wednesday July 21, when Team USA plays in its second consecutive day of competition against Canada live from Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Team USA defeated Italy 2-0 yesterday in their opening round matchup. The nightcap of the softball doubleheader features host nation Japan facing Mexico at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
An encore of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team’s match against Sweden earlier this morning will be presented tonight at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 21
In its second consecutive day of competition, Team USA softball plays Canada live from Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Team USA defeated Italy 2-0 yesterday in their opening round matchup behind the pitching of Cat Osterman and Monica Abbott, who combined for 12 strikeouts in recording a one-hit shutout. Osterman is a two-time Olympic softball medalist, while Abbott owns a silver from the 2008 Beijing Games.
Host nation Japan, who began Olympic competition with an 8-1 victory over Australia yesterday, face Mexico live at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
THURSDAY, JULY 22
In a rematch of the men’s soccer gold medal game from the 2016 Rio Games, Brazil face Germany live at 7:30 a.m. ET on USA. Brazil, the defending Olympic champions, earned the country’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in soccer after Neymar converted the winning penalty kick in a shootout.
FRIDAY, JULY 23
NBC Olympics will be presenting NBC’s first-ever live morning broadcast of an Opening Ceremony at 6:55 a.m. ET. The Opening Ceremony will be followed by a special edition of TODAY with reaction and athlete interviews. NBC will then present a first-ever Olympic Daytime show on the opening Friday of the Games, previewing the competition yet to come. The primetime broadcast of the Opening Ceremony will feature special coverage of Team USA, along with the performances, pageantry, and Parade of Nations — the heart of any Opening Ceremony — at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
The U.S. Women’s Water Polo team, aiming for a third consecutive Olympic gold medal, begins tournament play against host nation Japan from Tatsumi Water Polo Centre later that evening, at 1 a.m. ET on NBCSN.
