Detroit’s Scheduled Starter Max Scherzer Attempts to Reach 20-Win Plateau
“Sunday MLB on TBS” continues on September 15 with a match-up of postseason contenders when the Kansas City Royals and Eric Hosmer visit the Detroit Tigers and Miguel Cabrera at 1 p.m. ET. Both teams are in contention for postseason berths with the Royals in the race for an AL Wild Card spot and the Tigers leading the AL Central. Kansas City’s Jeremy Guthrie (14-10) is scheduled to take the mound against Detroit’s probable starting pitcher Max Scherzer (19-3) who will attempt to reach the 20-win plateau. In the TBS broadcast booth, Brian Anderson will call the action alongside analysts Cal Ripken and John Smoltz. Additionally, the network’s telecast of the game will be available in the Kansas City market.
Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1, TBS will exclusively televise the American League and National League Wild Card games and will once again provide coverage of all four MLB Division Series and exclusive coverage of the National League Championship Series.
TBS has broadcast MLB for more than 30 years, televising the MLB Division Series and one League Championship Series since 2007, and was the home of the Atlanta Braves from 1977 to 2007.
