Detroit Tigers vs. Chicago White Sox at 2 p.m. ET
TBS Telecast to be Available in the White Sox Broadcast Territory
Sunday MLB on TBS will continue August 31 with an American League matchup between division rivals when the Detroit Tigers and Miguel Cabrera visit the Chicago White Sox and Jose Abreu at 2 p.m. ET. Rick Porcello (15-8) is scheduled to take the mound for Detroit against Chicago probable starter Jose Quintana (6-10). The Sunday MLB on TBS telecast will be available in the White Sox broadcast territory with Brian Anderson providing play-by-play alongside analyst Cal Ripken.
The upcoming Sunday MLB on TBS schedule will include the New York Yankees hosting the Kansas City Royals on September 7 at 1:30 p.m. Prior to the game at 1 p.m., TBS will televise the Yankees’ special ceremony to honor the historic career of long-time team captain Derek Jeter.
This season marks the first of Turner Sports’ new eight-year multimedia rights agreement with Major League Baseball that will extend the partnership to more than 40 years. As part of the new agreement, TBS has enhanced rights for its Sunday MLB on TBS game of the week with increased co-exist rights in the local markets. The network will also exclusively televise one Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser, two of the four Division Series with the MLB Division Series coverage on TBS presented by T-Mobile and one League Championship Series during the 2014 MLB Postseason.
