NEW YORK – July 18, 2012 – Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) will offer subscribers nationwide live hole-by-hole coverage of the 2012 Open Championship, golf’s oldest major tournament, running Thursday, July 19, through Sunday, July 22, at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in Lancashire, England.
Live play-by-play, provided by ESPN Audio, will air Thursday and Friday (7:00 am – 1:00 pm ET) on SiriusXM channel 85 and Saturday (9:00 am – 3:00 pm ET) and Sunday (8:00 am – conclusion ET) on SiriusXM channel 84.
The Open Championship is returning for the 11th time to Royal Lytham & St. Annes, a links course that features a multitude of bunkers and shot changing winds that force competitors to put a premium on accuracy. This year’s field will include World #1 Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, 2012 Masters Champion Bubba Watson, defending Open Champion Darren Clarke and many more of the world’s best.
In addition to the live tournament coverage available on channels 85 and 84, SiriusXM will offer daily golf talk, news and analysis throughout Open week on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio, channel 93 on XM and channel 208 on Sirius Premier.
Leading into the play-by-play on Saturday (7:00-9:00 am ET) and Sunday (6:00-8:00 am ET), SiriusXM’s Bob Bubka and Alex Miceli will host the Open Championship Preview Show live from Royal Lytham & St. Annes, which will feature analysis of the day ahead and interviews with special guests. Immediately after the conclusion of each day’s play, Earl Forcey will host an hour long Open Championship Review, giving listeners a full recap of the day’s events.
