Former Tennessee coach will host college basketball show on SiriusXM College Sports Nation, channel 91

NEW YORK – November 8, 2011 – Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that former college basketball coach Bruce Pearl, who guided the Tennessee Volunteers to a national #1 ranking, has joined the roster of expert hosts on SiriusXM College Sports Nation, channel 91, SiriusXM’s 24/7 college sports channel.
Pearl will make his debut on an early season college basketball special live from the SiriusXM studios in New York on Monday, November 14 (6:00-8:00 pm ET) the night before the State Farm Champions Classic, the double-header at Madison Square Garden featuring Duke, Michigan State, Kansas and Kentucky. Pearl’s co-hosts in studio for this program will be CBSSports.com College Basketball Insider Jeff Goodman, who joins SiriusXM as a regular host this year, and longtime college sports voice Mark Packer.
In January, Pearl will begin hosting the SiriusXM College Basketball Today show twice a week (12:00-3:00 pm ET) on SiriusXM College Sports Nation, channel 91. On the program, Pearl will take calls from listeners and talk with fans from coast to coast about the biggest stories happening across the college basketball landscape from conference play through the national championship game.

A native of Boston and a 1982 Boston College graduate, Pearl coached the University of Tennessee Men’s Basketball Team from 2005 to 2011. In that six-year stretch the Volunteers achieved a national #1 ranking (2008), won a SEC Regular Season Championship (2008) and earned a NCAA Tournament berth every season. Prior to Tennessee, Pearl coached at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2001 to 2005, where his team won two Horizon League Tournament Championships (2003, 2005) and two Horizon League Regular Season Championships (2004, 2005), and reached the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 in 2005. His first head coaching position was with the University of Southern Indiana from 1992-2001. While there, he led the Screaming Eagles to the NCAA Men’s Division II Tournament Championship in 1995. Pearl is a two-time Associated Press SEC Coach of the Year (2006, 2008) and three-time Horizon League Coach of the Year (2002, 2003, 2005), and was awarded Adolph Rupp National Coach of the Year honors in 2008.
