Channel features more than 13 hours of live college sports talk every weekday
NEW YORK – September 22, 2011 – Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) will debut a new expanded weekday lineup on SiriusXM College Sports Nation (channel 91), the only 24/7 radio channel dedicated entirely to college sports, that will offer listeners new call-in shows and more live hours of college sports talk.
Beginning Monday, September 26, the live broadcast day will kick off an hour earlier, starting at 6:00 am ET with 247 Sports Radio’s On Campus, hosted by college sports expert Bill King.
September 26 will also mark the debut of a new daily college sports talk show, SiriusXM’s College Sports Today, which will be hosted by Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George and Mark Packer from 9:00 am to noon ET. George, who holds the Ohio State rushing records for yards in a season (1,927) and yards in a game (314), will continue to host the SiriusXM College Tailgate Show every Saturday morning during college football season (9:00 am – noon ET) alongside Packer. Packer has covered the college game for more than 20 years, previously hosting the Primetime with the Packman show in the Carolinas and as an integral part of SiriusXM’s college basketball coverage last season.
Following SiriusXM’s College Sports Today, listeners will continue to hear the daily college football show, SiriusXM’s College Football Playbook, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm ET hosted by former Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach and veteran college sports broadcaster Jack Arute. After the conclusion of college football season, SiriusXM’s College Football Playbook will go on hiatus and be replaced by SiriusXM’s Inside College Basketball, providing college hoops fans will daily talk and analysis through the national championship game.
The Paul Finebaum Show will continue to air each weekday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm ET. Finebaum has been one of the most prominent voices of college sports for over 20 years and his daily show is among the most listened to programs in the country.
College sports fans will also continue to get weekly shows hosted by football and basketball coaches from many programs around the country throughout their respective seasons. These include Oklahoma’s Sooner Sports Talk with Bob Stoops, Texas’ Longhorn Sportsline with Mack Brown, Ducks Tailgate Tuesday with Oregon coach Chip Kelly, Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher Call In Show, Wisconsin’s Badger Sports Talk with Bret Bielema, Nebraska’s Bo Pelini Show, Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly Show, Missouri’s Tiger Talk with Gary Pinkel plus college basketball coaches’ shows from North Carolina, Kansas, Ohio State, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Indiana and others.
