Live From the PGA Championship
Saturday, 7-8 p.m. ET
PROGRAMMING NOTE: Golf Channel’s Live From the PGA Championship on Sunday morning will now air from 7-8 a.m. ET. Morning Drive will precede Live From the PGA Championship, airing live from 6-7 a.m. ET
Golf Channel Insider Tim Rosaforte spoke with Adam Scott after play was cancelled:
Adam Scott: “Right now I am in good position. Unfortunate not to continue because I was on a little bit of a run, but hopefully I’ll come back out and play 27 good ones tomorrow.”
On Adam Scott at -5, tied for 3rd and one stroke off the lead:
Frank Nobilo: “He is trying to do exactly what Rory McIlroy did last year. That is basically, lose a major championship and come back the very next major and finish the job.”
On Rory McIlroy, tied for the lead at -6 with Vijay Singh:
Brandel Chamblee: “I do have to believe that Rory McIlroy, at this moment, given the fact that he is coming off such a strong finish at the WGC, the way he started and the fact that his putter is working so well, is the favorite going into tomorrow.”
On Tiger Woods’ struggles in today’s the third round (3-over par after 7 holes)
Nobilo: “He does get nervous. We see that. He is so desperate to win that major championship. Tension shows up in a lot of ways…He’s just desperate, which is a very human property that just about every other player bar Tiger Woods used to be. Now Tiger Woods at the moment, when he is desperate, then all of the sudden his golf becomes – I would never use the word ordinary – but it comes pretty close to it.
On the suspension of play and how that can help Tiger Woods on Sunday
Nobilo: “That [the suspension] was essential. He has a putt for par. Right then, it was a reset. He now has a chance to re-evaluate what has happened.”
Chamblee: “If ever a guy needed a time-out, he did.”
On Sunday’s final round marathon at The Ocean Course
Chamblee: “It is going to be a long day. Frank, you did the math the other day, and I don’t think Usain Bolt could run around here tomorrow in 12 minutes, and the way it is raining around here, I think Michael Phelps could swim around here faster.”
