Reporter Jeff Darlington on NFL GameDay Final:
On his report of Miami Dolphins’ Richie Incognito being suspended:
“Head coach Joe Philbin has advised guard Richie Incognito he has been suspended indefinitely while the NFL continues to investigate this matter. The Dolphins did turn over this situation to the NFL to allow them to thoroughly investigate. Incognito is at the heart of this investigation. As such, Philbin has decided that it is the best interest of the organization is to suspend Richie Incognito indefinitely.”
On if he has spoken with members of the Miami Dolphins:
“I have spoken with Richie Incognito. He is the one that told me he has been suspended indefinitely. While he couldn’t provide me too many details, he was certainly stunned by the decision of the Miami Dolphins to do this. He will continue to await the investigation and he says he will cooperate as needed.”
On Incognito’s reaction:
“I can say he is pretty surprised by it. He is definitely disappointed by it. He will continue to cooperate. At this point, he continues to view this as an ongoing situation. I think in his mind, he considers himself – to be quite frank – to be a friend of Jonathan Martin. I know it might be surprising to some, but this is where it stands right now. So you can imagine Incognito is a very confused person, but one who is dealing with this and hoping that he is eventually able to share his side with NFL investigators. But at this point, very clearly, his career with the Miami Dolphins is in jeopardy.”
On further elaboration if Incognito understands the situation he is involved in:
“As you can imagine, he is very stunned at this point. This has been a very confusing week, to say the least, for Incognito [and] for all involved. This is one that doesn’t just involve Incognito; this is one that involves the entire Miami Dolphins locker room at this point.”

On if it effected the players not having head coach Gary Kubiak in the second half:
“I don’t think so. We were very concerned at halftime. Actually, we were more motivated, if anything, to go out and get the win. Once we got out there playing again, it didn’t stick around in our minds too much. I don’t think that played in it at all.”
On if there was an impact from not having head coach Gary Kubiak on the sidelines in the second half, since he is primary play caller:
“Maybe. I don’t communicate with coaches that much but that could have had some kind effect on us, now that you bring it up.”
