Secaucus, N.J., September 6, 2012 – The Postseason races intensify during MLB Network’s live game schedule for September 10-15, leading up to MLB Network’s first-ever exclusive telecasts of two Division Series games on October 7 and 10. Among the matchups with Postseason implications throughout the week, the AL Central first-place Chicago White Sox host the second-place Detroit Tigers, who only sit one game back, on Monday, September 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Viewers in select markets will see the NL Central first-place Cincinnati Reds take on the NL Wild Card-contending Pittsburgh Pirates at 7:00 p.m. ET, live from Great American Ballpark.
The New York Yankees, who lead the AL East by one game over the Baltimore Orioles, visit the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday, September 11 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Viewers in select markets will see Evan Longoria and the Tampa Bay Rays match up against the Orioles at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Rays currently trail the Orioles and the Oakland Athletics by 1.5 games for an AL Wild Card spot.
Matt Vasgersian and Jim Kaat have the call as the MLB Network Showcase game next week features the Yankees facing the Red Sox on Thursday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Tom Verducci will report live from the field at Fenway Park. Viewers in New York and Boston will see the final game of the four-game series between the Tigers and White Sox at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The remainder of the schedule features the NL East first-place Washington Nationals, who have clinched their first winning season since moving to Washington D.C. in 2005, hosting the NL Wild Card-leading Atlanta Braves on Friday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Viewers in select markets will see an AL East showdown featuring the Yankees hosting the Rays at 7:00 p.m. ET. Matt Holliday, who has emerged as an NL MVP candidate with 25 home runs and 92 RBI, and the St. Louis Cardinals will battle the Los Angeles Dodgers, who trail the Cardinals by 1.5 games for the last NL Wild Card spot, on Saturday, September 15 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Viewers in select markets will see the Athletics, who have won seven of their last ten games, host the Orioles at 9:00 p.m. ET.
