STAMFORD, Conn. – March 11, 2020 – The Olympic Flame lighting ceremony in Olympia, Greece, will be presented live tomorrow at 5:30 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA and headlines Olympic programming this week on NBC Sports. Following the ceremony, which is always held at the ancient Olympic site in Olympia, the Olympic Flame will spend eight days in Greece before being flown to Japan to start a 121-day trek leading to the Opening Ceremony of the Games of the XXXII Olympiad on July 24.
The men’s alpine skiing World Cup is expected to conclude this weekend in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, where two-time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety and two-time Olympian Tommy Ford are expected to lead the U.S. men in giant slalom.
Live coverage of the giant slalom begins with the first run on Saturday at 4:20 a.m. on NBC Sports Gold and OlympicChannel.com, and continues with the second run at 7:30 a.m. ET.

NBC Sports’ live coverage of the cross-country skiing World Cup continues this weekend with 2018 Olympic team sprint gold medalist Jessie Diggins headlining the women’s field in Quebec City, Quebec. Diggins is currently sixth in the overall women’s standings, followed by fellow American and two-time Olympian Sadie Maubet Bjornsen in eighth.
OlympicChannel.com and NBC Sports Gold have live coverage of both the men’s and women’s sprint on Saturday at 1:10 p.m. ET, with Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presenting encore coverage at 4 p.m. ET. Coverage of the sprint event will continue Sunday live at 1:30 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.
Beginning on Monday, March 17, the cross-country skiing World Cup will take place in Minneapolis, Minn., at Minneapolis’ Theodore Wirth Park. The event will mark the first cross-country skiing World Cup competition in Minnesota since 1985. Diggins is a Minneapolis-area native and was instrumental in Minneapolis being chosen as the host city. Live coverage begins on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.
