TNT commentators: Ernie Johnson, Ian Baker-Finch, Bill Kratzert and Vince Cellini
Baker-Finch on the advantages of resuming third round play on Sunday: “For those that were playing poorly yesterday in the wind, it’s a huge advantage coming back this morning in ideal conditions. And for those like Rory McIlroy that were having a great afternoon [Saturday]…and leading, it’s a disadvantage for sure.”
Baker-Finch on Carl Pettersson during his third round: “He’s proven to be a very steady player when he’s had the lead or within a shot or two [of the lead].”
Baker-Finch on Tiger Woods during his third round: “Tiger really struggles when that wind [blows] a little left to right.”
Vince Cellini interviewed leader Rory McIlroy (-7) following his third round:
McIlroy on his play in the morning: “It wasn’t the start I wanted to get off to today. But to come in and play the last four holes in two under [par] was very nice.”
Vince Cellini interviewed Tiger Woods (-2) following his third round:
Tiger on his up-and-down third round: “I got back in it. I clawed my way back in it. I’ve got a shot this afternoon. I gave myself a chance.”
Baker-Finch on Rory McIlroy’s chances to win the PGA Championship: “If you had to back someone, it would have to be Rory. With a three shot lead…Rory’s got a big start [going into the final round].”
Baker-Finch on Adam Scott, who stands four shots back going into the final round: “He’s in very good form. He might be the guy to watch this afternoon.”
Final Round Coverage:
Baker-Finch on the final round of play and who he likes to contend this afternoon: “[Tiger] has the momentum. He’s the guy I’m looking for to make a move. Tiger is the guy who could go low and make a bit of a charge.”
Kratzert on Louis Oosthuizen: “I never get tired of watching that golf swing.”
Baker-Finch on why Aaron Baddeley has never recorded a Top 10 finish in a major championship: “A lot of guys like that just have this mental block…like they have to do something different.”
Vince Cellini interviewed Ian Poulter (-1) before his final round:
Poulter on what he needs to do to get into contention today: “I’ve got to be aggressive. I’ve got to hole some putts at the right time to give myself a chance.”
Vince Cellini interviewed Bo Van Pelt (-3) about playing in the final group on Sunday at the PGA Championship:
Van Pelt on playing in the final group: “To me, it’s just 18 holes of golf. I try to play my best every week.”
Kratzert on Rory McIlroy and how well he is playing: “He doesn’t have to hole a bunch of putts the way he’s hitting it.”
Broadcast guest Greg Norman on Tiger Woods: “I was a big fan of Tiger Woods’ swing back in 2000. I thought nobody swung the golf club better in the history of the game than he did.”
Norman on fellow Aussie Adam Scott: “I didn’t like the terminology – ‘He’ll be scarred forever’ [after losing the British Open]. It’s happened to every one of us here [suffering a heartbreaking loss]. He played brilliantly.”
Norman on Scott’s chances today trailing by four shots: “He’s actually probably in the perfect position [today]. Now he can set the pace.”
