On Morgan Pressel and Paula Creamer defeating Anna Nordqvist and Suzann Pettersen 3&2
Tom Abbott – “An impressive performance by Creamer and Pressel.”
Tom Abbott – “Those that doubted Paula Creamer as a Captain’s pick should think again. The U.S. wins the first match of the 2015 Solheim Cup 3&2.”
Judy Rankin – “This answers a couple of things. First of all, has Paula put things personally with her golf game back together? Yes she has. And the second questions was, can this pairing of Pressel and Creamer take down these two big time players – Nordqvist and Pettersen – because they seem more powerful? Didn’t work out that way for Anna and Suzann.”
Pressel and Creamer Speaking with Golf Channel’s Jerry Foltz following their match
Paula Creamer – “Being partners with Morgan makes me feel so comfortable out here. This was just so exciting. We played great, we had a couple of little things here and there, but I am so proud of us. We had one job to do, which was to lead us off strong and we did that.”
Morgan Pressel – “At the end of the day, they want to win and we want to win. We just kept it going and kept the pedal down.”
On Charley Hull and Melissa Reid defeating Michelle Wie and Brittany Lincicome 2&1
Rankin – “They [Hull and Reid] are fun to watch because they don’t waste any time. They go about their business.”
Brittany Lincicome and Michelle Wie speaking with Kay Cockerill following the match

Curt Byrum – “They ran into a buzzsaw. Cristie Kerr and Lexi Thompson have played some great golf.”

Byrum – “The Europeans fought back mightily in this match.”
Karen Stupples – “I’ve been really impressed with Cristie in foursomes play and four-ball play in watching her, partnering with her and playing against her.”

On Sandra Gal and Catriona Matthew defeating Stacy Lewis and Lizette Salas 3&2

Catriona Matthew – “Both teams played pretty well. We made a couple of good key putts. Came down to a few good putts, which always happens in match play.”
Sandra Gal – “It was a pleasure playing with her [Catriona Matthew]. She is so experienced and so laid back, we just felt like one person playing out there, which is what it is all about in foursomes.”
Gal – “It was more than I expected. It was electrifying. It was so cool to have their joy and enthusiasm catch on us. I think we played better because of them.”
