Secaucus, N.J., September 29, 2014 – MLB Network will exclusively televise Game Two of the National League Division Series featuring the St. Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers with Bob Costas, Harold Reynolds, Tom Verducci and Ken Rosenthal on the call this Saturday, October 4 at 9:37 p.m. ET, live from Dodger Stadium. The telecast will be available across the country exclusively on MLB Network, including in the Cardinals’ and Dodgers’ home TV territories. Local channel listings are available at www.FindMLBNetwork.com.
MLB Network will exclusively televise a second NLDS game on Monday, October 6 between the Washington Nationals and the winner of the National League Wild Card game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the San Francisco Giants. The game will also be available nationwide and in each club’s home TV territory on MLB Network. 2014 marks the third consecutive year that MLB Network will exclusively televise two Division Series games. MLB Network’s two game telecasts will be presented by Geico.
In each game telecast, MLB Network will employ its innovative real-time defensive alignment graphic “Shift Trax,” which debuted on MLB Network Showcase this season, as well as PITCHf/x, enhanced audio at each base, and 4K (Ultra HD) and X-Mo camera technology to provide dramatically increased resolution and clarity to replays. MLB Network previously used both camera technologies during its coverage of the 2013 LDS and World Baseball Classic, as well as MLB Network Showcase game productions in 2014 and 2013.
MLB Network will also bring back new versions of its Emmy-nominated opener, “A Field of Dreamers,” and the Emmy-winning piece “The Scrapbook,” which will air prior to both of its NLDS game telecasts. Using rotoscope technology, “A Field of Dreamers” brings players from Postseason teams, including Miguel Cabrera, Clayton Kershaw, Adam Jones and Andrew McCutchen, to life on the famous “Field of Dreams” baseball diamond. “The Scrapbook” creates an animated collection of iconic images from Postseasons past, updated to include David Ortiz’s grand slam from the 2013 ALCS between the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers.
Exclusive performance footage of the song “Fire” by Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum selling recording artist Gavin DeGraw will be featured in all studio programming on MLB Network throughout the Postseason. The track is off DeGraw’s album FINEST HOUR: THE BEST OF GAVIN DEGRAW, set to be released on October 21 on RCA Records.
MLB Network will air 200 hours of live coverage of the 2014 Postseason, including game previews, highlights, analysis, interviews and press conferences across all studio programming. MLB Tonight presented by Bacardi will air before and after every Postseason game with reporters including Scott Braun, Kristina Fitzpatrick, Peter Gammons, Ken Rosenthal, Sam Ryan, Heidi Watney and Matt Yallof on-site at each ballpark. MLB Network’s daily Postseason programming schedule, including High Heat with Christopher Russo presented by Liberty Mutual, The Rundown, Intentional Talk and MLB Now presented by the U.S. Army, and MLB Tonight, is available here.
MLB Network will keep its social media followers updated with the latest news, photos, quotes, interview clips and highlights using #MLBTonight, #Postseason and #WorldSeries through its presence on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
