Spotlight Look at Falcons-Eagles
New York – October 30, 2012 — Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, NBC Sports Network’s weekly NFL show co-produced by NFL Films, airs this Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET. In this week’s episode: NFL Turning Point examines Eli Manning and the New York Giants victory over Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys; how Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers attacked and contained Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins; and a spotlight look at the Falcons–Eagles game. In addition, Football Night In America’s Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison will breakdown the keys to this Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys-Atlanta Falcons matchup.
Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, the hour-long program airs throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.
This week’s episode will include:
– An in-depth look at the Giants–Cowboys, and how Eli Manning and the Super Bowl Champion Giants were able to outplay Tony Romo and the Cowboys. NFL Turning Point examines the performance of both quarterbacks, the Cowboys six turnovers in the game and Romo’s three interceptions in the first half. In addition, NFL Turning Point dissects the final minutes of the fourth quarter; including the Cowboys continuing issues with play-calling and clock management, and their inability to convert on second-, third- and fourth- and-one.
– NFL Turning Point explores the Steelers–Redskins, and how Pittsburgh’s defensive scheme limited Washington’s running game and contained Robert Griffin III’s pass attack. NFL Films also looks at Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s proficiency inside the 10-yard line and how he was able to complete three short touchdown passes against the Redskins defense.
– The program shines a spotlight on the Eagles–Falcons game, and how Atlanta’s QB Matt Ryan was able to lead the Falcons down the field and score three TD’s on the team’s first three possessions.
Football Night In America’s Rodney Harrison and Tony Dungy look ahead to this Sunday’s Cowboys-Falcons matchup, breaking down the keys to the game for both teams. Harrison and Dungy will use the coach’s clicker to analyze the fourth-quarter strengths of the Falcons and fourth-quarter weaknesses of the Cowboys.
Each week NFL Turning Point will be built around select NFL match-ups from the previous weekend, and will focus on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show will feature anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long form, Game-of-the-Week style narratives that include the pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.
Earlier this year NFL Films and NBC Sports Group agreed to renew the Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, for the 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons. This year, NBC Sports Network will air a total of 22 episodes, running throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, will look back at the turning point of Super Bowl XLVII.
